Quoting: Blue22Man, somebody should create an Open Source clone, development could be financed by donations and esport events.

I always wanted to learn Godot, maybe I'll five it a shot when version 4 is out
There is a football arena mode in SuperTuxKart already. It's working fine, but doesn't have the same feeling, yet.

NVIDIA presenting a talk at GTC 2020 about Linux drivers and possibly some open source news

Wasn't there talk that one of the biggest showstoppers for nouveau was beeing unabled to set some specific modes to make the hardware work at full speed at all and that it was related to the signed firmware? I see hints that this might change now. They probably won't open source their blob and even if it was open sourced, it almost certainly would need to be heavily refactored to be included in kernel/mesa, so documentation might just do as well.

The ridiculously large Stardew Valley 1.4 update is out

I really like itch.io a lot and think technically, it's a lot better then gog. It's just missing the critical mass (and the dosbox stuff I don't really care about, to be true).
I sometimes wonder if they should take Android more seriously. Cross-platform purchases would certainly raise interest a lot, but an f-droid style store app with automatic updates is missing for that. With a little more popularity, they could take over the no-drm business from gog to everyones benefit. And why shouldn't they sell apps, too?

A French court has ruled that Valve should allow people to re-sell their digital games

This may well go up to European court level and then it might effect the whole European Union. And there is no reason this will only affect games. I'd assume this would hit digital movie distribution even harder then games. And I assume it would hit AAA much harder then indie games.
Still, I hope this will happen. There will surely be chaos at first, but it will be a much fairer market in the end.

His name is kind of fitting. Penner is a foul name in german. It used to be used similar to english "hobo", but now pretty much means "jerk".

A look at how Steam Play is doing, based on the ProtonDB reports from July

  • Games with native Linux versions sometimes are visible as Windows only (and the other way around).
That's actually rooted in SteamDB - it's their data source. I contacted both ProtonDB and SteamDB regarding some games that have a native linux client, but in the end it seems to be up to the developer to click a check box. In a similar vain to your comment - it should be trivial for the owner to make this overwritable by the community or have a secondary flag for it.

For ratings to be more coherent, ProtonDB would have to change its submission form and extract the correct rating from that. That would pretty much require a restart. So yes, maybe when proton leaves beta. Not to mention the data will still only be as good as the input from the users.

That's where I would always differ. Especially if google have additional jobs for the hardware, as people suggest.
ha, not sure how the talk about the Atari VCS turned into Google Stadia talk. One is (in theory) going to be similar to Steam, Playstation Store, Xbox Live, vs one is a streaming service, which most of us would never bother with.

Hell, I don't even like having Chrome installed...
Yeah, dislike Chrome, too :)
