I don't understand why so many people think getting more cores and a faster CPU is going to magically give them the best framerates. The 5700XT is really a 100fps at 1440p type of GPU, AT BEST. (games like KCD will give you less however).
Hopefully AMD release a 5800XT or something, already their starting to hype the NAVI2 expectations, meanwhile they only have the 5700 models available to market, talk about jumping the gun...

Quoting: jarhead_h3900X/X570/5700XTThe GPU will be the major decider on framerate, Getting a 3700 + B450 board would free up some cash to get a even faster GPU and cost nothing substantial in framerate.

I CAN get a Quest for $650AUD and use that Link cable thing but really I feel like its a waste of money atm, very BETA stage, lots of little issues that add up.
Ideally I would love to get a Pimax 8KX headset but by the time you pay for shipping/exchange/accessories, it would be around $2500-3000AUD! OUCH...
Think I'll just wait for video cards to be able to handle 120hz at 4k before I consider VR,
I'm all about the pixels!!!!! if I see one jaggy edge, pixel or screendoor, I would scream! lol
PS. Anyone notice a fair bit of Australian accent in this game? Yes the game looks great, is this Source 3 engine? I might be able to get VR in 2021, its a struggle.

Quoting: x_wing... But unfortunately VR sets are too expensive for me with their current prices :(Yeah I feel you, the prices do get a little ridiculous here in Australia for VR.

So basically a small copy/paste of community mods such as the asset pack / bt adv or roguetech....
If it was $5 I might have considered getting it sometime, definitely not now at $20.
PS. Yes the modding support is nice, but I feel allot of the ground work was already done by the community.
EDIT: I'm being critical because the game at least before this patch has had major memory and performance leaks, I doubt 1.8 will change that situation. Updating the game to a newer Unity3D engine version could have resolved these issues (and enable vulkan support). They have not don't that yet.
Yes I've tested the game extensively under Win10 and Linux, the issues exist on both versions.

Vulkan post-processing layer vkBasalt has a new release up with SMAA support

Yes but not always. Sometimes it will cause the program to fall over. Haven't quite put my finger on exactly what causes it. Also basalt method is probably less problematic as it doesn't require wine/proton to inject DLL files.
For example, reshade worked fine with Battletech via proton (native version is a bit slower). But recently I did a system update or something and now it crashes the game exe. VERY hit and miss..

I wonder if this will eventually become like Reshade is on windows, which is pretty popular.

Game reminds me of a completed version of Kinetic Void, a game which sadly was never finished due to dev running out of money/interest basically. (for some reason steam still sell it on their store, oops)
Stadia looks to be very limited at launch and not just the amount of games

stadia is owned by google, and they have a lot of money to do it correctly first time. That is have features people want.
People saying they need to start at steam alpha version level of features are kinda silly. Same goes for EPIC store, lots of money but minimal spent on app and features... These are not companies that really care about the users or value of their service.....

Stadia: BUY our games, so we can invalidate them later on...
Really not sure what their thinking, they need to make public announcements on exactly how they will handle the bought games license when their service is unavailable or shutdown! avoiding the topic is going to REALLY hurt stadia down the line!
Also it would be nice if they made the streaming service OPTIONAL, so the games you bought you could choose to install locally on either a windows/mac/linux machine, for local play (obviously syncing online each time except when in offline mode).
THAT would make the service MUCH MUCH more attractive IMO, say you only want to use their streaming service when out of the house on your mobile or laptop, but when your home you want to play it locally off your main machine.. makes sense to me....
Something tells me Valve is going to beat them to the punch on this one!

DXVK works better then almost all native OpenGL implementations for games I own. With a few exceptions of cause where the engine has really well optimized OGL support (extremely rare).
