Many claim DX12 has easier to gain, gains in performance (fps).

Sounds great, tho probably already done reasonably well with mods like advance 3062 etc.. The biggest issue for me under Linux is OpenGL seems to be around 10-20fps slower then windows (hurts 4k players), and the game overall under all platforms still has memory leaks and/or gradual slowdown issues (inc stutters/pauses).

Deleting majority of your save files can help a bit with loading and such, but the other optimisation issues are still present.

EDIT: Yes they could look at enabling vulkan support if it works on Unity3d engine end 2018 (what game currently uses).

Just keeps getting better,

I would like some coding to be done to allow better freesync or VRR support, maybe allowing it to function regardless of monitor(s) setups. That be neat, atm gsync and freesync only work once second monitors are disabled and only if flipping is enabled and compositing is disabled, its got quite a long list of CONDITIONS to get variable refresh rate working.

And even after all that is met, you can still end up with screen flicker like I experience even tho it doesn't exist under Windows (which lets me run at lower VRR rates btw).

I think its just developers choosing DEFAULT options for us pleb Linux users, we're clearly not important so default values for building on our platform will always mean OPENGL. for now.

What have you been playing recently and what do you think about it?

Mostly been playing battletech, and recently battletech advanced 3062 mod. The game is great and all but plenty of issues including gradual memory leaks or slowdowns after a period of time.

Fortunately I got it for $12 and the dlc for urban about the same. The game just needs a huge amount of performance and bug fixes, STILL...

I don't know why more developers don't just use the vulkan option. I've know a developer to test it out under Linux earlier this year and he said their is absolutely no problems using it. No excuse really.

Quoting: zebWhat is different to Lutris?
Lutris allows like I said custom wine spins to be downloaded or used via dropping them in a folder. It installs containers much like how steamplay works. Also it has advanced features under the hood to get around all the problems (most anyway) that people may face using wine.

If their going to support wine and proton they should make it easy to build custom containers for games and also to add in custom versions of wine much like how Lutris does it.

If Lutris and one of these launchers joined forces it would be amazing.
