Microsoft donates the Mono Project to the Wine team

Maybe this will lead to more applications that rely on NET to work. In particular all those mod managers that hate working under WINE.

Quoting: ArtenSo when you are in woods collect mushrooms for your consumption
In the game you literally are converting the entire biome of the planet to a giant factory for production. Since when does profit exclusively mean currency?

I meant more in terms of converting planet into profit.

Chill my dudes, I just want to convert your planet into a CAPITALISM!

Quoting: TcheyI almost want this game, without the Factory elements, just exploration, some simple base building maybe, and RPG-action stuff
Yeah like a mix Dwarf Fortress exploration mode or something.

The Beamdog & Owlcat RPG Humble Bundle has some killer games in it

RT and Kingmaker are quite common. Basically feel like initial ideas done well but oddly missing more.

In RT you only explore about 1/3rd of the map before game ends. (you cant go to rest)

It's possible there are huge expansions planned, but its a little disappointing also because anything you do, will be UNDONE by the Empire, keep that in mind when going ANY route that lets them back into the sector.

The REAL gem is Anomaly with packs like GAMMA or similar that enhance it.

Anomaly does have stories and such but its mostly text based unless you find a VA mod for it. Also no cutscenes in Anomaly but EVERYTHING else has been DRAMATICALLY enhanced on the original XRAY engine Stalker games.

But yes the first stalker game and some of the expansions had some real route edges which got enhanced with mods which most people don't discover until long after.

Quoting: Cato-the-youngerGuns look plastic, pew pew. The Controller doesnt look scary at all
Could be consequence of using realistic lighting and PBR rendering. Perhaps we will be able to tweak things once its in our hands. Also if you played the original games, then you can't argue Stalker-2 looks way better and more realistic.

Quoting: Cato-the-youngerSeems like an issue of trying to mainstream the game too much
Stalker-1 series had a lot of stuff stripped out and was WAY simpler then most people remember it too be. Stalker-2 is supposedly a big step up. KEEP IN MIND! ANOMALY IS A FAN PROJECT, NOTHING MORE!

It's kind of crazy that these games (and df) had a bigger game world then ANYTHING that got released from anyone in decades afterward.

NVIDIA Linux Driver Beta 560.31.02 Out Now
6 Aug 2024 at 6:39 pm UTC

Still needs multi-VRR and DLSS FG support. For such a MASSIVE corporation you'd think they be able to do that real fast, yet AMD is outpacing NVIDIA when it comes to Linux driver support. A truly fascinating paradox.
