Quoting: t3gThis is good as Arch is stuck on the old version for the past month. Rolling release lol…Except Rolling Release does not mean bleeding edge. There are AUR and git/dev repositories normally for that sort of thing, or testing/unstable branches.

This is one of those games that could have HUGELY benefited from a more open-world setting instead of the micro level challenges it has now. On top of that more martial combat styles with melee weapon combat styles on top.
I played about 10 levels into the main story a couple times but kind of forgot about it. Certainly had potential but felt too much like a arcade level challenge type of game more so then a continuous interesting story/world. Also I think it was like 30GB or something which seemed pretty extreme for such a basic game.

I guess not bad for a console that only sells in the US and UK...

I don't know. I think once we get key critical features in on Wayland and the most actively developed DE move to Wayland, then we can't really call it just yet.
Features like Gamma+Brightness Controls (that aren't a sway exclusive wlroot hack-job and isn't NIGHT MODE); HDR and possibly AutoHDR, better VRR and Multiple display support.
The features I mentioned above have been standard in Windows10/11 for sometime now with exception of AutoHDR which is something new to Win11 only maybe? When I boot into Win10 my display says HDR enabled but not sure if that is AHDR...
PS. I don't use Win10; just have it for testing compatibility stuff, should move it to a external USB sometime...
NOTE: I'd like to mention the SteamDeck is still a exclusive product to only a few countries and MOST the world still can't get them. PLUS it has supply chain issues...

Yes, the Steam Deck will eventually get Ray Tracing, once the AMD GPU driver matures

I'm sure over time great optimizations to how RT is done in the driver and perhaps future games will appear. We already have Lumen for UE5 but it's going to take a quantum leap in optimizations for RT to become viable on the Steam Deck for basic games.

RT with my 6800XT has never worked correctly or at all. I've used mesa-git/dev releases too. Sometimes it would work but fps was unplayable, other times it would have major graphical issues (like on The Ascent), and then other times it would crash my entire system like someone ripped out the 6800XT from its socket (like trying to use RT in CP2077).
So to say RT in RADV needs more work (even amdgpu-pro drivers are borked for most things) is the understatement of the year!
PS. RT works fine under WIN10 btw, no card defect here!

Steam Deck has RDNA2 and is cheaper. I just don't see the market for these at this kind of price unless you need more CPU power because I think this is more powerful in that regard?
Can't wait for a Steam Deck 2.0 to have RDNA3 with 8 core APU, that will be amazing but still likely 2years away.

Waiting for Gamescope to get proper fullscreen and VRR support. Atm I think it just does borderless window which disables vrr/freesync etc...

Quoting: GuestI don't get the point of this as there are third-party discord clients that do this and more that work well on the Deck.Like what? you are aware ALL discord clients have no functioning Linux In-Game Overlay option like windows does right?

I always thought these games just ask windows voice recog to translate it to text or something. Seems like a more open-source friendly speech recognition software could be mapped instead to do the work?
Would be neat if that was possible. Kind of silly for games to rely on MS Speech-to-Text or Cortana to do the work.
