Lutris has a third beta available for the big 0.5.0 release

I'm using windows10 atm because I've been playing Kingdom Come Deliverance at 4k which is a tad too lower framerate with proton, plus no freesync with gsync under Linux yet (1080ti).

I'm hopeful companies will gradually move to Vulkan API and it just won't matter anymore... still going to take time for that to happen.

It would be nice if this had a windows compatibility function so you could use it as a launcher for steam/gog/uplay/bethesda, whatever. Its getting there under Linux.

Good to see my 30usd isn't going to be a waste, hopefully. Things could still go wrong regardless of how good it looks so far.

Most my stuff runs good under Linux these days, except for select titles like KCD at 4k (even 1440p has fps drops for no reason). And of cause Warthunder since their OGL option is trash now, for those things I use Windows10. Hopefully Linux gets a freesync-gsync update soon.

As for devs becoming lazy, I think its well past that if they haven't fixed things for their Linux port already. ARK being a prime example..

Just wondering, isn't Amazon's lumberyard engine open source and would allow for streaming services with it? Seems that would be a better option for devs to use if they need it. Not sure when Vulkan support will drop for it however, sometime soon hopefully.

Quoting: mylkabut thats the point
by the time games need more than 8GB, u need a new card anyway because even the 2080TI will be to slow

GTAV uses I think 10GB or so at 4k on max settings, its pretty old. So certainly games use that vram today.

In saying that 8GB would be just fine for AMD if they use their VRAM caching tech whatever it was. Unfortunately they need 4 chips to get the bus speed needed.. HBM2 does not come in 2GB modules, which is quite unfortunate.

The vram usage is largely dependent on your resolution, allot of people still playing at 1080p.
