I guess this screws over Ubuntu 22.04 users unless they upgrade to 22.10, wait for a backport, or move to Pop_OS which has 22.2 and 6.0.6 of the Linux kernel right now.

I’m more surprised that some of you are playing games in 2022 with a 580. I had one years ago but graduated to a 5700 and currently on a 6900XT.
I do game on a ultrawide though so maybe that’s why I appreciate the extra power.

If the Flatpak is being updated by the developer, that is a better way to get packages plus the Flatpak is portable across operating systems.

Quoting: fireplaceConsidering that SteamOS on the Deck is still running Arch packages from January and the user shouldn’t touch the core OS, then I’d rather go with Flatpak.Quoting: dibzAgreed, system package manager any day of the week. AppImages, Flatpaks, Snaps, all seem to be the current (unfortunate) hotness and all of them are sub-par compared to native packaging.Flatpak IS a package manager, you know. It’s just that it’s a lot more robust than the legacy traditional ones (dnf, apt, pacman, etc).

Quoting: Liam DaweI have an AMD GPU (6900XT) but haven’t played Infinite in months. I assume this could apply to me in the future if I reinstall the game.Quoting: t3gYou worded it as Steam Deck, but what about desktop Linux? As far as I am aware it’s mainly fixed up for AMD which I can only test on Deck, since my PC is NVIDIA.
