Trouble in Solus Linux land as their Experience Lead quits

I'm old enough to remember when Ikey created and maintained the Solus team and then just avoided everyone. Didn't communicate with team members and committed no code. Pretty much moved (maybe he didn't or was lying) and left the Solus team high and dry. Eventually he went to Intel, but it was a shitty way for him to abandon his project.
Then Josh and others had to go into emergency mode and took over the reigns for the project. Now he is leaving and Solus is in uncertainty. I tried Solus when Ikey was leading the team, but with how strong Arch is now, there is really no reason to pick Solus. Heck, you can install Budgie on any distro you want regardless if it is Arch, Debian, Fedora, or Ubuntu.
Now you see why people choose Arch and Debian as their main distros as they have a history of a strong community not run by a corporation or a handful of people.

For game controllers, I am currently using an Xbox Elite v2 and I was curious if you could add the Elite controllers to the list. :-)
As for VR headsets, I have an HP Reverb G2 (not in the list) but I'm not sure how popular that is either. Maybe you could add a general "Windows Mixed Reality" headset. Sounds kinda weird running on a Linux OS though heh.

Having access to the AUR in Manjaro is handy as I have leveraged these packages for gaming:
AntiMicroX
Arx Liberatis
Devilution X
DosBox Staging
System76 keyboard configurator for Launch
libstrangle
MangoHud
vkbasalt

This is s**t because the original has a native version for Linux, yet they are being really difficult for the sequel. Oh well, the player base is kinda "meh" anyways: https://steamdb.info/app/581320/ [External Link]
GOG to go through some reorganization after suffering losses

I have a lot of games on GOG, but there are times where there's a native Linux version of a game on Steam (like Metro Exodus) but GOG is Windows only. Also scenarios where versions of Quake on Steam got a free update to the Enhanced Edition, but still absent on GOG.
I'd love to have a native GOG Galaxy client, but for now, I have to settle for Lutris.

These should be easy:
1. Offer the last Mesa. This won't matter for people that use Ubuntu on servers of course as they will not touch Mesa/Xorg/Wayland, but for those on the desktop, it is really beneficial. Avoids a PPA.
2. Offer the latest Wine/Wine Staging. Like Mesa, this is desktop gamer focused and would be nice to have the latest without a PPA.
3. Offer the latest Lutris. Pop!_OS kinda does this already in their Pop_Shop, but it would be nice to have this once again... without a PPA.
4. Should we have the latest kernel as an option to install as a package? Like linux-latest or something. I think System76 does this in Pop!_OS with their linux-system76 package.

If Capcom is committing to the DMC series on Proton, it would be nice if we could get the HD collection of the first 3 games running without editing hex files and running Proton GE: https://www.protondb.com/app/631510 [External Link]

I forgot Stafia existed. There was a real circle jerk from the GOL team that it was Linux gaming but it wasn’t. A locked down server only experience and developers didn’t use that Vulkan experience in being games to Linux.
APT 2.3.12 package manager released, will no longer let you break everything

It is totally apt's fault and I'm surprised that the Debian devs still left that option to nuke your system so easily. I'm kinda glad this happened because it is a reality check for System76 that they need to be more careful with their releases.
I agree with others that apt should do an update before installing any packages.
