Game devs don't seem convinced on the Steam Deck from the GDC 2022 survey

"don’t think it will deliver anything revolutionary that isn’t currently being delivered by the Switch"
Except a humongous game library from Steam, GOG, emulators, etc, and the fact that we don't really have something like the Switch on PC (And on Linux!)

Besides, what if it doesn't deliver anything revolutionary? PlayStation 4 didn't deliver anything revolutionary from PS3 and it still sold 100 millions units.

Switch brought a holistic approach to playing games on Nintendo hardware, mainly due to limitations from their part to develop for 2 different consoles, but also seeing the demographics, particularly of Japan, very well. At least before the pandemic, anyway.

A similar device for PC is a very good idea. Personally, I believe it will work better than Steam Machines, and somewhat successful, but not enough to create a trend between manufacturers.

Don't forget Nintendo off that list
If Nintendo wants to survive in this mega-corps acquisitions era, they should purchase SEGA, and Square-Enix, and maybe do an alliance with Valve to bring some of their titles to PC.

But another gaming crash is nigh. Who knows what will happen.

Steam Deck on track for the end of February

All these delays might make steam deck miss the hype train. I think if the experience isn't already good on arrival, this could make Deck fail on start too.
Agreed, experience needs to be good on arrival. The delay for me isn't a big deal, might give me the chance to play Breath of the Wild 2 before.

Quoting: BielFPsValve should also release a new game with deck in mind to show the device qualities, like other "consoles" usually do.
This is a very good idea, but considering no one has mentioned it before, I'm afraid there isn't anything in development for the Deck's launch (I really want to be wrong here)

A look at the top 100 Steam games on Linux - January 2022 edition

From that list, I own around 10% of the games, and probably have not heard about 40% of the others, and not interested in the rest. It's becoming easier for people like me xD

The Steam Winter Sale 2021 is now live

I couldn't resist myself and got a few. But probably won't be able to play them until Feb or so:

Shadow Tactics - Blades of the Shogun: Aiko's choice: I loved the original, the expansions looks great and mimimi deserve the purchase of the game for having a Linux build anyway.

A Plague Tale: Innocence: I've heard wonders about the story, and for £8 is a bargain.

Psychonauts 2: I did say I would buy it in GOG when Linux was released. But... sometimes one needs to eat its own words.

Banner Saga 3: To continue the game with the choices from the first 2 games.

The Witcher 3: To complete the collection in GOG and Steam.

Only one native, and the rest in Proton though :(
