Microsoft Edge comes to Linux in October as a preview
22 September 2020 at 4:27 pm UTC

QuoteMost likely though, since they (like a lot of others) target Ubuntu directly, they might mean the Snap Store.

If the release it's anything similar to PowerShell, it will mostly be available for apt, zypper, yum, etc via repos too.

Not interested in Edge though.

Holly shit, I didn't know about the acquisition! Man, it's really discouraging seeing how companies are being engulfed by bigger companies constantly and amass an even larger portion of IPs and talent :(

Awesome news! Will those integrations be available for other distros? I wish Pop_OS! was based on Debian instead of Ubuntu, I think I would like it more.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyIt's cool, but at that point why "replace"? Why not just have a desktop computer?

Maybe people with tiny houses want something like this

I lived in a tiny house until 2 years ago (27 sq meters, thanks Camberwell) and this would have been a much less space saver than my ITX build connected to the TV.
Come to that, it strikes me that people who can afford this much for a computer mostly don't live in tiny houses. Sure, no doubt there are exceptions, young upwardly mobile singles living in fashionable urban tiny lofts, but as a rule.

That's a very good point. Although the mobile in "young upwardly mobile singles" wouldn't be so true with this laptop.

When I see a "laptop" of this size and weight, and then read "desktop-replacement", the only thing that comes to mind it's how to replace my desktop so it can support such monstruosity.

I might give it a go. Although also backed TaleSpire in Kickstarter and haven't played much, mainly because I don't really know many people to play with. Or not many campaigns are newbie friendly (dnd 5e) -or I don't find them- xD

Story-driven, tactical stealth game Desperados III is now available on Linux PC

Quoting: EikeI loved the original Desperados. Now I tried to play Shadow Tactics, but somehow...
I cannot stand the genre anymore. :-(

Interesting, Shadow Tactics actually brought me back to when I could not stop playing the original Commandos. Wild West isn't my fav setting though, so not sure if I'll be getting this one.
