Quoting: dibzVery much hope so :)Quoting: ArehandoroGibbous was an overall very good game, and probably near-mage too, but somehow the art looks of lower quality than it predecessor. It also looks like the world is based on will be the same than Gibbous.I thought exactly the same thing watching the trailer. Perhaps it's just because it's so early?

I used that Anker for a while, and it was pretty comfy and nice. Although, mainly due to gaming, I ended up with a logitech MX Master 3 a few months after that, and never went back.

Quoting: WikipediaInitially scheduled for release in March 2020, the game was pushed back in late 2019 to an unspecified 2020 release date,[49] and further delayed in late 2020 to an unspecified 2021 release date.[51] In November 2020, Paradox CEO Ebba Ljungerud speculated that Bloodlines 2 would not be released in the first half of 2021. She explained the delay as caused by the staff changes, the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, and a delay in receiving development kits for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.[52] Along with the developer change in February 2021, the game was also delayed to past 2021
The Valve Steam Deck, lots of excitement and plenty to think about for Linux gaming

Quoting: dubigrasuThe fact that other stores, games and OSes can be installed on the Deck doesn't mean they will be supported, though. Considering the APU is custom built, and the effort they've put into Proton + device, it would be clever to assure support on it only for the OS they developed for it.Quoting: TuxeeI explained why a couple of posts below but suffice to say that it will happen. Already media is buzzing about "runs Linux but don't worry, you can easily install Windows on it" and is not so far fetched to believe that gamers in search of performance and a greater gaming library will go this route.Quoting: dubigrasuI hope they'll put up also a polished installer for the new SteamOS 3.0.Why would they? Most Windows users never ever install an OS at all - that's something for the Linux crowd. In addition setting up Windows on such a fully integrated device is far from "super easy, barely an inconvenience" while OTOH you already have a shiny nice frontend running which serves the purpose perfectly. After all we are talking about a console.
I can easily imagine that many will just strip SteamOS out of it and install Windows, but at the same time others might be impressed with SteamOS and tempted to install on their PC.
I didn't said "most" or "everyone", I said "many" which is very likely a possibility.
Edit: stupid grammar. Man, I hate this.

It can go both ways, only time will say, but it's an exciting move that can bring lots of good things; From games targeted specifically to Linux, to games made with the Deck in mind. Games being optimized for it, would mean all laptops/computers get to benefit from it, more creativity due to the button disposition and hardware constraints, less money invested in games because I don't need to buy one game twice (home PC, travelling for the Switch), etc
Let's dream :)

Something I haven't seen mentioned anywhere is the dock. Will it be included? Will it have hardware on its own to increase performance/fps dramatically or just more power to effectively overclock it like the Switch does?

Pre-COVID, travelling was easy. eReader, laptop and the Switch. Now, I will need extra space for the Deck :( This hits right in my spot, and will be pre-ordering tomorrow.
Linux Foundation launches the Open 3D Engine based upon Amazon Lumberyard

Quoting: GuestI'm still distrustful of the Linux Foundation as a whole, seems like it's being run more & more by Microsoft, and putting anything with strong ties to AWS into the mix is not a good combo. That's a very good point. When I first started being a "member" of Linux Foundation, I had the feeling it was some money spent to give voice and extra cash to the smaller projects, maybe even the "lesser evil" sort of thing. As of late, Linux Foundation -And their outdated, rather poor courses- as you well mention look more like Microsoft or AWS just looking into tiying people up to their certs.
To me this just seems like a marketing stunt, and an attempt by Amazon to get more games hooked into it's infrastructure.
Permissive license, open source development is the way to go for anything, but with those likely goals in mind it's worth remembering where most of the funding will go towards. This will push the project away from being a community driven, exciting open project, and more an example of how businesses can benefit from open source software (something still worthy of pointing out, of course).

Initially, we will support Windows 10 and select Android devices and we will continue to add new platforms after the consumer launch.
