Contemporary adventure game inspired by the Philippines 'Until Then' announced

The technology to show pixel-art with a certain depth is similar to the one seen in Octopath Traveller. Teenagers, a contemporary setting that probably will be some sort of Manila, the use of the mobile and the "World hasn't ended yet" somehow reminds of "The World Ends With You" but on a graphic adventure. And in the Philippines.

Absolutely worth to keep an eye on it, if only for the interesting setting.

For the faint of heart, or just simple scarypants like myself, don't even watch the trailer if you are alone at home.

It actually sounds a lot like State of Mind. The difference in aesthetics and the rather good jazzynth soundtrack have my attention though.

Quoting: Nezchan
Quoting: scaineI played Act 1 all the way through in 2013 and was vagely surprised, at the end, to discover that it was a episodic release. Sadly, I never went back to it. I suppose episodic releases only really work if you can keep up momentum and stick to a schedule. There's no point in me buying Act 2 onwards now - I've long forgotten what Act I was about!

As crappy as the devs are (long, unexplained delays and extremely little contact with players), they have made something worth playing. Act 2 in particular is brilliant, so I'd recommend replaying Act 1 and then moving forward with it. That's what I'll be doing.

Just...don't trust anything the devs do in the future, that's all.

At least they've finished the game, though. That is definitely not the norm in the industry.

I most certainly wasn't expecting this. Given the critics will wait for an offer, but I'd like to play it.

Yeah, I didn't hear anything from Siberian fires either.

Quoting: mao_dze_dunMy guess is Steam Cloud gaming has more to do with Valve's partners than Valve itself. Microsoft and EA are both friends with Valve again, and both companies are developing their game streaming services. Considering it's been confirmed Origin Access is coming to Steam, it's not too far-fetched to expect some form of Game Pass to make its way as well. And since it's all but certain that the top tier of Game Pass will include the subscription to xCloud, it is very possible for EA to offer some equivalent. It's more likely (for me anyway) that Valve will enable such services through Steam, rather offer a cloud gaming solution of their own. Quite frankly, they just don't have the money and infrastructure to pull something like this themselves, IMO (don't get b*ttheart people, you know I'm right). Beyond Google and Microsoft, I can't really think of another company that has the network infrastructure and the infinite resources to create a palatable game streaming service. Even Sony has partnered with MS on that front.
End of speculations :)

PS I expect EA's streaming service to fail. I hope it's good, but I just don't see them being able to compete with MS and Google.

Well, in terms of Infra I would say Amazon is probably a key player here. Microsoft can potentially pull it off too, but I think all of them should partner to use the same protocols and technology to lower the cost and barrier for everyone. But that won't happen.
