it's a fun game, but the problem of it lately has been, it eats all my memory. it says on the steam page, 6gb recommended.. well, I have 8gb, and startup time takes forever, loading map takes forever, and it starts to get very slow after you've been building for a while.. :(
it's better without the DLCs, but I like the DLCs, already played enough without them..

ooh, thanks for covering this!
I love it when games are made like art. this thing just screams it..
it's not your usual game, it's just something the developer wanted you to see.
and, I like what I saw :)

Right now, Surviving Mars is having a free weekend on Steam, and 30-40% off, depending on what DLC bundle you buy, if you want to keep it.cool, I always wanted to try this, but the price was a bit steep for me and reading reviews didn't help. could be, that couple of days playing is enough. this of course means, that I have to dig up the time :)

hmm, a bit sad thing yes.. but understandable.. if I remember correctly there isn't really a huge dev team behind it, but one or two people only. so supporting all platforms adds of course to the workload. and Linux sales being what it is, sure, it's the first thing to drop.
I didn't buy the game to support Linux, I bought the game to enjoy it with my daughter and support the developers. and we can continue to enjoy it.. works fine in Wine too, maybe on that Proton thing too later on.. if it comes to that.
before, you bought the game, and that was it, the game you got. nowadays, you buy a game, and expect the developer to keep on making it to you for free for years and years? it's a bit puzzling for me. nice, but puzzling.

though.. still getting a goal is a bit of a chance of luck for me :) but i don't care much about that, I kind of just love playing it beacause it's ridiculous. it's about playing, not necessarily about winning. (for me)

Quoting: LeopardLast updates of RL had performance improvements.which maps? I haven't been playing for a while because I suck at it and everyone else got good :) but just this week me and my kids decided to give it a go again, and it works wonderfully! speed is great, and no crashes anymore after match. really enjoying it.
Sadly , missing sounds in certain maps after awhile still an issue.
