Thanks all. I think I sorta follow, but the executive / marketing speak is so.... Bad?

If I hear one of our "high performing leaders" in my work talk about "pivoting" one more time....

Quoting: DerpFoxDidn't the 11th gen came out like earlier this year? intel range is getting harder and harder to follow.
Literally took the words out of my mouth.

Also.... I'm not normally one to criticize one's use of language, especially here considering how many people are not native English speakers (and I respect the heck out of your language abilities).
But, I am a native English speaker and I'd like to think I do ok at my language. I assume Gregory Bryant, Intel executive vice president and general manager of the Client Computing Group, is as well (or has a competent translation team).

Given that; I have absolutely no idea what anything he said actually means:

"The performance hybrid architecture of 12th Gen Intel Core processors is an architectural shift made possible by close co-engineering of software and hardware that will deliver new levels of leadership performance for generations,"
Glad to know my great grand children will see the new levels of leadership performance. I've always wanted high performing leadership.

"This begins with the arrival of our flagship Core i9-12900K – the world’s best gaming processor – and you will see even more incredible experiences as we ship the rest of the 12th Gen family and beyond."
What? See more incredible experiences as they ship? I mean, I like logistics, but unless that freight is coming on a venerable locomotive [External Link], I can't imagine seeing such an incredible experience.

Edit: fixing my terrible English, lol

Quoting: denyasisPretty sure those base specs are better than my "new" computer I built in the end of 2018. Similar price too.

And a full keyboard?!?

Impressive.

Only thing that seems off to me is the touchpad placement. Wouldn't it make more sense to have it to the right side? (I'll admit I'm a right hander so I might be biased, lol)
I am so used to my thinkpad, I now think trackpoints are the superior device. So it would be hard for me to go to a laptop without one... but then if we are talking about a gaming laptop... I would still prefer to have an external keyboard and mouse.

Also, I hate when I see laptops without a full 10key...
Is that the little joystick like thing in the middle of the keyboard? My thinkpad had one back in 2004. It wasn't bad at all. Didn't know they still did things like that.

SteamOS can run this game
What do they mean by this concept?

Native? Proton? WHAT?:dizzy:
It doesn't matter. Atleast to the end user. It might matter to us, because we like to know these things and tinker... But on a "I want to play a game" level, it doesn't really matter what framework it uses.

I'm pretty sure that's the point.

Send like a good idea. Tampers down expectations to something more realistic and probably prevents very loud angry people that would be disappointed it's not a drop in replacement windows system.

If they can't fully control it, they can't squeeze profit out of it.

Once they figure out how to do that, legally, it'll be ok again.

Crusader was such a good game. Even though it worked great on DosBox, I'm really happy these games also have an alternative home.

Congrats on 20 years!

Quoting: GuestI'm betting they'll just keep the project on ice.
Maybe with a little pressure, it'll sublime into something like Steam? 😛

Sorry, I'm really digging the puns way more than I should.
