Stop Destroying Videogames petition heads to the European Union

A potentially interesting outcome of this could be that publishers that sell a product that depends on an external party for functioning will have to specify a minimum time that they guarantee the functioning of this product for all or part of its functions. This could apply to everything from games to a "smart" fridge. I think it would be extremely beneficial for consumers if producers are forced to think about this before they are allowed to sell anything so it could be included in the value of a product.

Quoting: EhvisI guess Steam mode boots with the same user directory that is used for desktop mode. Might be better to separate those.
they had this set up in SteamOS 2, it made it annoying from what I remember
Security/robustness is usually opposite from convenience. But for a device like this, it map still be more important.

When I play alone I put player block damage at 150%. Otherwise I get nothing done. No insane zombie speeds for me though. Although I do put the difficulty up to nomad and have feral sense on at night for some added tension in darkness.

Started a new world yesterday. All my settings got reset with this update. Had to remap all my keys and do a bunch of testing on graphical settings again. The challenges seem a bit excessive to me. I get that they're trying to make the game more accessible by having a lot more explanations of mechanics, but a new player might be tempted to read them on day 1 while they should be surviving.

General gameplay seems to be largely the same as A21. The biggest changes are that dew collectors can now be made without filters (removes trader dependency, so very good) and that clothing/armor has been reduced to four items (not so fond of that one). Will have to see whether magazine balance is better now.

So August gives us Shapez 2. In September we get Satisfactory 1.0. And for October we have Factorio 2.0 + Space Age DLC. We'll be building factories all year!

Quoting: Purple Library GuyYou know, compared to all those other factory-esque games, this has one fundamental advantage:
The other ones don't have any chocolate.
Chocolate can't save everything. [External Link]

Bought the DLC. I have no idea what I bought. But it's from Klei, so if I ever get around to it, it'll probably be good.

No Man's Sky - Worlds Part I is out now and drastically transforms the planets

Quoting: tfkI've never played it. Is it good?
I suppose that depends on who you ask. There are people that love it and think it's great. Others (like me) don't like it at all. I tried it with the previous free expedition and played one session. Feeling of (space)flight is pretty bad and mechanics just don't give me anything to come back to. Frankly, it gives me the same feeling as an MMO. Long lists of tedious tasks without a meaningful story to hold things together.

Quoting: hercI bought this two days ago, it seems quite addicting 🤪

Quick question to others who play this. What graphics API do you use? I run with an Nvidia card if that makes a difference.
DX12 I think. I tested it inside a big factory way back and it gave me a few more frames and fewer issues than Vulkan. Don't know how much difference it makes these days.

That gives me just under 6 weeks to build myself to the finish because even though this is a great game, it's not going to take precedence over Factorio.

Curious to see what they changed and added for the final release though.
