Assuming you need EAC for your multiplayer server (I've never played on public servers, so I've always had it disabled), what file is it tripping on?

Quoting: CraigHSo, question here: Are any of you playing multiplayer? Not playing multiplayer at the moment, but playing solo with the native version using Vulkan. Haven't had any crashes.
Since a21 came out I cannot use proton at all (for this game) or I'll get kicked for an EAC violation for a file that seems to get updated periodically in the proton path. I can do opengl, it's a bit crap framerate on a 1080 + 3700x / 32GB. Last couple times I tried Vulkan directly, crashes were pretty random from 5-30 min never more -in multiplayer. Solo was better, but hardly crashproof
I should say it was fine under a20, with proton.

On my 2080Ti I got 15-20 fps @3440x1440 without upscaling. To make that playable I needed to crank up DLSS so high that it started looking pretty dreadful. So might be ok on 1080p, but above that you'll suffer. May have a look at this one, but I'm not expecting any miracles.

Quoting: lejimsterAre all these RTX remasters Nvidia only or can they be played on AMD and Intel GPU's? Portal is up there with some of my fav games.IIRC, Portal RTX required Vulkan Raytracing. So worked on everything that supported that. But especially on Linux, only nvidia is fast enough to make it playable.

The only thing I can think of is that it is for the "GSYNC Compatible" (Freesync) support. The big problem with Freesync is that it never came with any quality requirements on the panels and implementations, which resulted in a lot of shitty freesync monitors. One common complaint I found when I researched it, was that there are monitors that can't maintain constant brightness under varying framerate, which made their freesync support pretty useless. So if you have one of those, there is no way to fix it. However, I doubt any monitor like that would make it on the the "GSYNC Compatible" list of supported monitors though. So it would always be a ymmv case.

Quoting: TheRiddickDoesn't fix the VRR flickers for Multiple high refreshrate monitor users. So I've read.I wonder what they actually meant by this. The only time I had any sort of light flicker was during loading screens when the game dropped to 1 fps or less. Outside that, nothing. Which is what you expect since the GSYNC label is not just the piece of hardware, but also a list of requirements on the panel that are meant to prevent any sort of flicker.

Quoting: StoneColdSpiderI have a real dumb question about Nvidia drivers and EndeavourOS......I'm not so sure that it will happen soon, but if so, the last driver version to support it will probably become a legacy supported version that will only get security updates. Generally those become separate packages in the distros.
Ive got a Nvidia GTX 1080...... And im assuming my card is coming to end of driver support sometime in the not to distant future....... So my question is..... What happens when that does indeed happen???...... Will the EndeavourOS updater know the driver no longer supports my card and stop downloading and installing the unsupported driver on my pc????..... Or will I have to remove the current driver and install a legacy driver or what????....... It is something that has crossed my mind a few times over the past few months as my card gets older and older........
I know I should probably ask over on the EndeavourOS forums but I dont want to create an account just to ask this 1 dumb question....... So here I am....
Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day.....

Quoting: XpanderNot listed on the changelog, but this driver seems to fix also:Any notable remaining issues that weren't there in 525?
- Fix broken shader cache issue that was in previous 535. Basically it didn't read the shader cache from disk and compiled new one each game start
- Fix for Metro Exodus EE graphics corruption, no need to use the workaround__GL_b5f2b3=0xFFFFFFFFanymore
those were the only issues i encountered with previous drivers and seem to have been resolved.

Bought it during the last sale. Including a bunch of other obscure puzzle games. Have yet to try it, but for this price I'm sure it'll be worth it.
Edit: played about 60 levels of it. Fairly easy puzzle game and difficulty goes up and down as you progress. But the sound of shattering is always satisfying!

Quoting: Sil_el_motit is working on federa now? i always get 307-error.That is a very generic error that can have a lot of causes. Form loading the wrong Vulkan driver to installation path issues. IIRC, I had it once. At some point VR stopped working and I couldn't figure out why. Eventually it turned out that the cause why a symlink that I had somewhere in my .steam directory to point to a place where I had more space. Apparently SteamVR really didn't like that and I had to remove the symlinks and juggle my libraries so I could have SteamVR installed in its default location.
just switched to fedora... should it work out of the box?

Quoting: DMGCan anyone explain, what is situation with steam and latest NVIDIA driver? Before I seen comments, that steam don't work with newest NVIDIA driver. Now they fixed it or have to use some workaround for that?I've used Steam on NVIDIA daily for a long time and haven't seen any issues worth mentioning.

I have around 400 games accumulated from my prime membership, so I'm pleased to have those covered in the same interface. I find it funny that nile dev works on Heroic, but someone else did the implementation. The beauty of open source at work!
