PROTON_ENABLE_NGX_UPDATER=1 %command%
Then it'll do it for that particular game.

Quoting: YaumeisterI'm usually the "install and forget" type, so would someone mind explaining where exactly do I set "PROTON_ENABLE_NGX_UPDATER" = 1? Is this in a config file or a command I got to run?You can set the following in the launch argument for a game in Steam:
PROTON_ENABLE_NGX_UPDATER=1 %command%
Then it'll do it for that particular game.
Wine 7.22 out now with more 32bit on 64bit work

I'm curious about one thing. Would 32-on-64 increase the usable memory for 32 bit software in Wine? If that is the case, then it would be a benefit for 32bit games that suffer from OOM crashes in proton. Borderlands 2 for instance.

The ipv6 bug is an interesting one. My achievements for Alyx range from April 2020 to March 2021. I have actively used ipv6 for over a decade and have never turned it off for anything. So apparently it is not quite as simple as "having ipv6 enabled" crashes Alyx. I've played a bit of with proton in the beginning, but then waited for the native build because proton would almost always crash on level transitions.

Quoting: KlaasOtherwise you have to hope. There is a chance that the updated version could be added as a new game, but that seems to be the publisher's/developer's choice.They said way back when they announced it that it would be added as a separate game.

Assuming that all features work on Linux, I wonder if it will make my 2080Ti burn. :grin:

Quoting: ShmerlRegardless of the API used, the Switch version was a massive downgrade from the PC version. Which would probably make it very difficult to use.Quoting: EhvisMy guess is that they either took the whole CP2077 engine or parts of it to do this. Either way, since I don't see them doing Vulkan for their last red engine usage, dx12 is very likely.Didn't they port TW3 to the Switch? So may be they already had a Vulkan path in the engine for that. So it's a possibility they used that here as well. But I guess we'll see.

Quoting: ShmerlBtw, if it's using ray tracing, does it mean they refactored REDengine to use DX12 or even Vulkan? DX11 doesn't support it if I understand correctly.My guess is that they either took the whole CP2077 engine or parts of it to do this. Either way, since I don't see them doing Vulkan for their last red engine usage, dx12 is very likely.

Quoting: DebianUserYeah i'm a bit embittered, but it happens when i think someone is lying to me.A bit harsher than reality I'd imagine. More a case of VP's EON not really being up to the task and CDPR probably relying on them making it happen. An no, the "harsh language" was never more than an excuse. If that'd drive people away from doing things, the internet would be empty.

Good stuff for a free upgrade. I replayed the first two games it preparation of this release. And then had an unscheduled break during my TW2 playthrough due to the substantial delay this patch got. But my TW2 save is ready for import and my xmas break will be spent playing this. Including the DLC this time.

Quoting: peta77I just wish they'd give a little more attention to ground graphics. For airliners, etc. it's very good, but for low altitude flight (ultra light planes, helicopters, VFR, etc.) it doesn't look too good..... improved, but could be better...That is an issue, especially with msfs now. It's a bit unfair though because you ms can leverage their maps and cloud services without explicitly paying for it. Something like that would be completely unrealistic for development of just a flight simulator. The funny thing is that FSX was always applauded for having seasonal graphics while XP did not. Seems that this has now turned around. :) Anyway, msfs is never going to be an option for me, so the comparison is irrelevant. And from the foot I have in the flight simulation community, those that rate flying above fancy satellite photo scenery still prefer XP over msfs.
