A small tip for anyone working with Kdenlive and large video files

Yep, proxies are pretty great. :D I'm glad you found them! Not that I consider myself a Kdenlive pro, I've just been using it for about 7–8 months.
If the extra file space is a problem, you can also delete the proxy file(s) after you're done rendering the movie, they can always be recreated if you want to use the raw footage again. If you leave them, though, and use the raw footage in another video project it'll have the proxy already available and not need to recreate it.

My computer's only 2½ years old at this point so I'm not planning on a CPU upgrade for another few years, but always good to see more competition in the marketplace!
How to record videos on Linux using OBS Studio with separate audio tracks for gameplay and microphone

I've been doing separate recordings of game audio and microphone for a while now (though in a non-standard way*), and it really is great. Being able to adjust sound independently is fantastic.
*currently I'm using SimpleScreenRecorder for computer audio and an old smartphone to record my voice, which I put together during editing. Not exactly elegant, and when I have the funds for a new (good) microphone I hope to get this sort of thing working, but it works to establish the general principle.

Is this a standalone game, or a mod? I'm confused.
Into The Breach, the new strategy game from the makers of FTL will be on Linux

Quoting: xaviI didn't know that FTL has mods!!Unfortunately it's not really a supported feature, and requires a fan-written program to inject the mods' code which (as far as I know) only runs on Windows (though maybe with Wine?). I briefly played around with mods a little bit prior to switching to Linux, and it was kinda fiddly. Although that experience convinced me I was happy with the vanilla game, it would be really neat if mods were actually supported. Hopefully they'll design Into The Breach with this in mind.

Interesting that a mere two years ago, at the end of 2015, [Steam only had 2,964 games altogether](https://twitter.com/Steam_Spy/status/804072335997358084?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw), and now here we have 3,000 on Linux. :)
Though the flip side is, simply having more games doesn't necessarily mean more games I want to play, nor does it include some games I do want to play. But hey, as long as they're making someone happy, that's fine with me. :)

Let's see…Steam says 358 hours in FTL for me, so whatever game Subset Games puts out next automatically has my attention. Seems interesting, I'll have to wait for more details.
Wonder if they'll put this one up on Kickstarter too, or if they've done well enough from FTL to make that unnecessary. :)

I think there was some confusion as to what "evaluation" means. Its not like we were trying to decide whether it was worth it to do the project. There was definitely some confusion, as I was confused! ^_^ That's exactly what it sounded like to me. Nice to get some clarification on this. :)
Quoting: M@yeulCAs for the star wars titles, One of my personal favorites would be Star wars Galactic battlegrounds :wub:Oh yeah, Galactic Battlegrounds! I have fond memories of that game. :)
But I'm afraid that it's not going to happen.
It's still a favorite regardless ^^

That first sentence description made me subconsciously think of Osmos too, though I only realized it when you mentioned it in the next sentence. :D
