Decided to continue playing "Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark" after purchasing its DLC ("Missions and Monsters"), but will probably spend some time on "Alwa's Legacy", "X4: Foundations" or "Kerbal Space Program" (the usual crime suspects for embezzling my time ).

Sadly, what I need is a good lightweight compact and *portable* 10" netbook as my current "Samsung N308" has become really outdated.
And as for a "Beast of a PC", my current desktop serves me well, thank you very much.

The controls on PC for pure keyboard are now (as of version 1.3.1) not half as bad as they were circa version 1.1.2. At least now we do not need to use mouse on the map for movement and any stray mouse movement does not send map viewport sliding to the edge of the map.

It's Alwa's Legacy almost non-stop for me.

They have given literally no explanation and just assuming that Linux users will understand that they were screwed when they choose Linux in the first place!?
I hope they reconsider their (…ahem…) unwise decision.

Quoting: Cyril…Thank you! This shows that right now Ekuator Games are in clear violation of the agreement. It seems they will not release the Linux version because they don't feel like it. I don't understand for what understanding they are thanking their backers.

Plus, we already had examples of studios dropping Linux support, and Psychojau with Leopard have provided damn good reasons to question Epic's level of Linux support. So, I can not rule out the possibility of forced removal of Linux support due to external factors (even though I want to believe in "ROCKFISH Games" and assume they will provide refunds if things "go south").
Gotta play my cards safe and ensure my money goes to truly Linux-friendly companies. Bloodscammed was more than enough for me.

Quoting: Liam DaweNo reason to expect Everspace 2 to drop it.Alas, I must be cautious, as "Works Great With Proton™" is not sufficient for me. I can not verify Ekuator Games' denial on Kickstarter (as I am not a backer), but see no reason to not believe Cyril.

With news like this [External Link], I'll think about this game when I see a Linux release.
Sad, but inevitable in our age of broken Kickstarter promises.

Quoting: EhvisBesides, it's silly to think that in something as complex as a modern CPU, you could identify a single person to have a major stake in anything related to it.We can (and often are) attribute the success of a modern CPU architecture (like "Zen") to the single person of Jim Keller [External Link]. So, I see no reasons as to why can't we attribute a failure also.

It's all worth so little for us that it's rather annoying to have to do the extra work all the time and carry that weight around.and
I just click "package for linux" and the engine does its thing.

But native "indies" beat big "AAA" releases by over a mile in quantity (there are probably 20 big "AAA" releases per year compared to several thousand of "BB+", "CC" and even "C" releases).
Yet, some are suggesting rejecting 5000+ good native releases in favor of 20 WINE-wrapped ones.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyMy thoughts exactly!Quoting: appetrosyanI heard this speech a thousand times and will probably hear it again. There are very few truly native ports out there.Few truly native ports, true. But there are a fair number of games designed cross-platform in the first place, which would more or less include games made with Unity.
The problem is not so much with numbers, really. What have we got, a bit under a third of games released for Linux (really pretty amazing considering our market share)? In terms of raw numbers, Feral's releases are a drop in the bucket. And a lot of the smaller, indie ones are genuinely native.
The problem is with the bigger games coming from big studios with their own engines. Very few of those are truly native.
