Planetary Annihilation begins its Linux onslaught!
20 Jun 2013 at 8:30 am UTC

Good to know it's going to be cheaper in the future, I just hope that future is sooner rather than later :P. Just constantly spamming units and having a real all-out war is crazy fun. Thanks for the article Liam.

If this is like Supreme Command (the first one), then I can't wait for it's final release! Can't afford it at it's current price in Steam though, hope it goes down little by little.

The image of futurama and spongebob is the best thing I've seen all day! :D

A contender to Unity for Linux appears, enter Leadwerks

If that happens, then GarageGames could partner with an investor, or similar, to bring their editor over.
I definitely hope something that good would happen in the future for them. I had no idea about the demo being done by only four people! You raise some good points, I hope Leadwerks won't fall into the same pits of doom. 100$ for the licence is very reasonable, so I hope that it's doable in the time frame they've set up.

I have to agree with Mirv on the importance of the Editor itself coming to Linux. I hope Leadwerks succeed.
By the way, whatever happened to Torque3d? Looks like they're interest in bringing their editor to the Linux platform was just fluff... which is depressing. Their Github shows last commit as being a month ago for Linux, unless I'm looking in the wrong place.

Wine developers released Wine 1.6-rc1, the first release candidate of Wine 1.6 aka the next stable Wine

I was going to start asking about what might be the situation of DirectX10/11 in Wine, but then I saw your summarized biography. Chicken chicken chicken hahaha couldn't stop chuckling when I first saw it :D

Serious Sam 4 is going to come to Linux!

Interesting, since they're saying it won't have launch day delays I'm assuming there's quite a bit of incentive. They must have had pretty ok sales from the Linux side of things on Steam, or maybe just that sales overall jumped when announcing Linux support for SS3. Things sound pretty good :)

Nuclear Dawn is still coming to Linux oh yes!

They probably need L4D2 to be finished so they have a reference point for porting their game. Whether or not they have the entire access to L4D2 code or not, I don't know. However, I'm sure they have some access to the game's coding (enough to necessitate waiting on its final release).

Audiosurf Air music game (Audiosurf 2) is coming to Linux!

I can't describe just how grateful I am for Unity's Linux support. With how many games GOL keeps covering everyday, it feels like a Tsunami of Linux support.

The Cheapskate's Corner 4 (Jun 5th-11th) (UPDATED)

Rumour says [External Link] that a new Groupees bundle, of the Build a Bundle sort, will be launched next week.
Oh man, this is exactly what I wanted to hear! :D
So much game saving bundles, and it isn't even the Steam Summer sale time of the year yet. It's really cool to start seeing Linux games appear in bundles besides the Humble Bundle (e.g Groupees, BundleStars).

On a side note, HB8 adding more games was unexpected. I made a bit of gameplay of Intrusion 2, it really reminds me of the Metal Slug series. Pretty awesome stuff :)

It's been years since I worked any direct advocacy;  in the past decade I quit with the zealotry and convincing others to give Linux a try, mostly because it didn't work.
Boy, do I know that feeling. Back in 2010-2011, I was really pumped trying to get my peers into Linux. Sadly, after short trials most of them went back to Windows. At the very least though, they now know that Linux and Ubuntu exist :)
