I only had that kind of situation with one of the games i was interested.

As some local Linux group , we purchased some copies of Rust on a Steam sale. Game didn't work for nobody. It was crashing to desktop when loading resources half way.

We refunded and explained issue.

Two weeks later , they ended Linux support.

I think that is right call for some companies. If they can't maintain a native version , they should drop it.

I don't think so. Proton is there for stopping decreasing numbers in Linux gaming and give it a traction with giving access to many AAA titles we would never see in native form anyway.

So VP kinda dropped the ball because Steam Machine hype died. If we can gain more players and reach by 1.5 percent in somewhat reasonable timeframe ; game will be start again and porters like VP can get new deals.

I've no doubt that will change, it's not finished and it's using a Unity beta so it's entirely possible they're waiting on some Linux-specific issues to be fixed.

So far , everything looks like working.

Even Quake Champions still has error 103 :D
