Well, that speaks volumes...
Yep, 99% of the market trumps the 1%.

Quoting: MotionshotThen why don't they release it as beta then on Steam? That way, Linux users who bought the game can help them test it while enjoying their pre-order.
You mean, so the Linux community can slate the developer for "only doing a beta release which is full of bugs and runs like sh*t, lets all tell the developer to die" ?
How can you come up with those things?

No one is doing it right now. Look at the Everspace case ; we are tolerant and co operative enough i think.

It's not out on GOG yet.
I don't own the game yet so I may be wrong and someone please correct me if I am.
But from what I understand the game can be launched independently from Steam.
The client is not needed for playing the game. In that case, Steam would merely be the distribution platform.
Yes , Everspace is Drm free. Some people are just thinking every game on Steam is Drm'ed. It is publishers decision , Steam is okay with either Drm or Drm free

Steam is not forcing anyone to Drm , it is just devs, publishers choice to using a Drm or not using a Drm

Is it alpha or beta for Linux?
There is no SteamOS icon to indicate Linux support, but it is there. The developer is likely waiting for more confirmation about how it runs before properly advertising it.
I see but people won't be aware of a Linux version exists for that game , unless they're not following GoL or Reddit. So that is not helpful if they want some feedbacks.

Quoting: fabertaweI'm really interested in this one. I will assess the pros and cons of DLC etc only after the Linux release.

Quoting: SolitaryJust look what they did to Shadow of War (sequel to Shadow of Mordor). I don't even care if they port it or not, it's shameful.
What happened exactly? I don't follow gaming news in general, i.e. Windows/consoles, only Linux related, so I wouldn't know.
They filled Shadow of War with micro payments.
