When i saw that , i reminded that also Squad was moving on Linux.

Is there any news about Squad?

Steam just keeps growing according to a presentation Valve did recently, UI update is coming

That looks pointless to me actually. I don't care about how Steam and it's Windows user base grows.

Valve should encourage Linux usage on Asia , that is the only way i can be happy about this kind of news.

Some things developers might want to think about when bringing a game to Linux

Quoting: Maweki I am German and there are a lot of games that have a problem with comma being the decimal point in my locale. Often enough, even recent Unity games, save floating point data locale independent and parse them locale dependent, leading to crashes, bugs, and corrupted saves.

It's easy enough. Just use Double.Parse with the current locale as separate parameter. It's not magic. I think I've added LC=C_ALL as a environment variable to about half of all Steam games I play.
Same here, I'm French and for quite a lot of games (at least 10 / 20% I had to add LANG=C before the command to launch the game. Examples include Anna Extended edition, and so on. Most of the affected titles are indie.
Same here , i'm Turkish and i'm suffering this LC_ALL=C problem.

Even i filed a report on Steam Github about that and i also discovered Danish and Russian users are suffering from that too. Even some Greek user was suffering from that problem on GoL too.

Steam Client is only properly working on an US English or UK English locale.

The Witcher 3 didn't come to Linux likely as a result of the user-backlash from The Witcher 2

Quoting: LeopardProblem is ; when a port or a game is bad people will start to roast it. That is very normal in our era , for the recent example ; take a look at Mass Effect: Andromeda. People went hard on Andromeda , so what Bioware did? They didn't get hard feelings for gamers.
Are you sure they did not? Windows gamers are a big part of their customers. I think they just didn't show, cause they can't afford to act on it.
Let's fantasize what might have happened if a minority with 1% of only the Steam market would have flamed them for a Linux-port they were not so sure it was viable in the first place...
And yes, it might not be completely professional to act as CDPR did, but certainly understandable, for most of us 1% of the Steam market, and for the rest all the more!
So being minority is equal to accepting consequences?

Let's put it with an example : At X country there are two kind of people.

One with the white skin ( i'm not a racist) others with black skins.

Black skins are most of that X country , while white skins are minorities.

They go for shopping at a mall. But this mall has a policy : Black skins can complain about bad products and mall management can go with it but whenever a white skinned guy complains about a bad product they forbid him to enter this mall ever again.

We are gamers too , we're not different than Windows gamers. Having a small share doesn't mean being treated as second class citizens and expecting that " Linux users should be greatful for that port , even if it is broke "

Why the hell we would do that? If a product is bad we have right to shout that to developers.

Of course , personal attacks are not welcomed but a backslash is pretty normal when a product is not meeting expectations.

People are buying products and according to that they want it to perform good. Testing the product before releasing is very important and i think that was the missing part on Witcher 2.

I saw the recent improvements ( on GoL) and how it runs on Linux and grabbed it via Steam.

Gamers are like that ; we love roasting because simply we want them to perform good because we're expecting a good product. We're buying games for playing , not for refunding.

Here is a recent example.

Feral's Vulkan port of Mad Max. People discovered the OpenGL regression and we called it like "marketing went wrong"

Even they're the top Linux port company right now , we did that. Also same will go for Windows or OsX users.

So if VP and CDPR taking this hate messages personal ; sorry but that is a bit unprofessional.

Quoting: sn0rlaxI picked up Salt & Sanctuary and Hollow Knight, among others. Really getting into metroidvania, about 15 years late.

S&S is the best game I've played on Linux. It might be the best game I've played, period. And I didn't care for Dark Souls.
I love metroidvanias, when I was a kid I played a lot Vampire Killer on the MSX, that was the precursor of Castlevania. I was thinking on which of both games play. Hollow Knight or Salt & Sanctuary, the second seemed different for the RPG mechanics...

But finally I bought Darkest dungeon and I'm enjoying it a lot. I think the clue is to be conservative, play without high risks and the all is more relaxed, easy to win, collect stuff, and arrive at town almost without stress (I'm in my first 10 hours). This way I find it more relaxing.

By the way, I have an Intel T430u laptop with Intel HD 4000 graphics and I'm tired on lots of games saying (like Darkest dungeon): "Intel Integrated not supported".... but it works perfect. Also it says 1080p minimum, and plays perfect at 1366x768. Right now I'm playing it with a monitor at bigger resolution, but I started with the laptop screen with no problem at all. Why they don't say: "Not tested with Intel integrated cards"... instead of "Not supported".
Not supported is not meaning it won't run on Intel Hd. It is simply saying : When you try to run it on Intel Hd and cannot achieve that ; don't expect any help or patch from us.

'HOOK' is an extremely minimalistic but addictive puzzler that I wholeheartedly recommend

I've grabbed it from Google Play Store yesterday for free. That is fun
