Quoting: LeopardOhhh,c'mon.

Most of Drm Free lovers are just wants this because of playing the game not infected for free. You all want it because of clean pirating.

Here's another example by monologues.

Organizer:Hey,dudes.Check this game out,it's so sweet. We should buy it.

Other fellas:Yeah, but it's so expensive and we're on Linux so that means our torrenting options are almost zero, mate.

O:No,there is another way. We're 7 guys, let's split the amount of game to 7.Give me your cuts.I will buy it from GOG and give away copies to each of us.

Hahha,get rekt devs.Problem solved...
Oh yes, of course ... defaming people talking about criticism is always the best choice - not really, but worth a try as putting hands on the ears, mumbling to not listen. Because some people don't care about legal things, everyone talking about DRM is just another pirate. Really bad joke! :)
If you can guarentee that Drm free releases are not open to abusing, then we will tell all developers -who works years on that games- to turn completely Drm free.

I bet if you were a dev,you will go with Drm,i'm pretty sure.

Drm lovers arguments are so lame actually and all of them hid a purpose under that words. They just don't want to pay, that's all. They're not giving a single shit besides that.

Quoting: liamdaweAll big releases go to Steam, that's basically a standard for PC gaming (apart from EA/Blizzard games). You either have to learn to live with it and accept some compromises, or stop complaining about it as it's likely not going to change.
Following that logic, all PC games should be released only on WINDOWS, because WINDOWS is THE STANDARD for PC gaming. You either have to learn to live with it and accept some compromises, or stop complaining about it as it's likely not going to change

...but, guess what? Indeed, a lot of people don't want to learn to live with it and don't want to accept those compromises and, indeed, they complain about it..

All those people who are against the standard for PC gaming are the reason why you have big games released on Linux.

When a publisher infect a game with DRM, is because that publisher doesn't trust its consumers.
A publisher that doesn't trust its consumers does not deserve a single penny.

Quoting: EikeThen again, the later could happen with a DRM free download as well. If there's an update, Steam would automatically install it for you, while for a DRM free download, you would need to do yourself. If there's an update, that is (applies to both ways obviously).
And there were updates made in the past which ruined your complete installation of a game - such happened for example with the newer releases for Darksiders. Making an update optional to be installed, even handled to be manual, this is no problem at all and just as a sidenote you are in control of your software, not a client.
You can turn off auto-updates on Steam.

Quoting: cRaZy-bisCuiTIs there someone from the forum living in England? Please do write me a PM. It's somehow related to the topic. (:

PS: I'm a bit confused that Feral lately only ports titles that are "Mixed" on the review side at best. Might it be "Deus Ex" or "Hitman". I think that might also have an influence on copies sold, probably aiming for some good rated games would be an idea.

Regarding the possibly of Skyrim. Feral says at their website:

We enjoy close relationships with developers and publishers such as 2K, SEGA, Square Enix, TT Games, Codemasters, Creative Assembly, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Io-Interactive.

Most likely it will be a port of any of those games.

By the way, where did you find out anything about a Vulkan Skyrim port? I'd rather say that does not exist. Also Bethesda never did any move towards supporting Linux.

Nintendo Switch is using Vulkan.

Bethesda won't support Linux directly of course, still Feral or Aspyr like companies needed.

Quoting: cRaZy-bisCuiT@Feral: Will it be vulkan? Are there any vulkan ports to be announcet right now? :)
I asked on Facebook. They said its opengl. Vulkan is coming later in the year, it wasn't clear if they are planning Vulkan for an unreleased game or for titles like Hitman and Dues Ex that have a DX12 back end already.
They already confirmed last year that Deus Ex MD will be their first Vulkan title (that they will add Vulkan support for the game in Spring 2017).
To clarify, we haven't announced what our first Vulkan game will be, nor a timescale of spring. We're aiming to get a Vulkan game out in the first half of this year.

If you got Vulkan tangled up with Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, that's because we talked about Vulkan during a Deus Ex: Mankind Divided live stream. Which was nice and confusing, woo.
Please be Skyrim, please be Skyrim,it's already ported to Vulkan.

What i get from this, they didn't do literally anything.
Who said anything about soon?
Actually no,you don't.

My point is,in this situation it's pretty dead to me and i think it will never come for Linux and Mac.
Wow, you really are Mr Negative on GOL aren't you

I'm kidding, but seriously, he seems pretty clear about wanting to support us and is improving all of his tools to accommodate Linux and Mac. Still seems a pretty sure thing to me.
Yes,i am. :D

I know he is trying but he is so late actually.Even if he is eventually make it available for Linux and Mac,if a problem occurs with ports how many years we will wait?

People who doesn't matter support are already trying it with Wine.Steam's good side is one click to install and play thing.Instant play basically.

At this rate,i'm suspicious that he can provide patches or other bug fixes for Mac and Linux.

Quoting: GuestNot sure if he's trolling or if the SteamOS bit just wooshed right past him. I'll be honest, for a split second when I was at their site I did the same thing. "No linux? Oh.. steamOS, duh"
Well, if it is a trolling on my part, it is not a trolling per se. The core idea is: the game is not planned for Linux. It is planned for Valve's "SteamOS".

Quoting: slaapliedjeI was thinking the same thing; "Bro, like SteamOS... it IS Linux.."
SteamOS /= Linux

SteamOS just happens to be a small subset of Linux-based distributions. For now. And at the same time while the Linux kernel and most distributions are GPL-ed, SteamOS with its "Steam Big Picture" (or something like that) is Valve's proprietary product. What will happen when Valve replaces Linux kernel with BSD and close their product?

Don't you see the writing on the wall?
1) Valve intentionally removed Linux logo replacing it with Steam logo;
2) Steam controller is unusable without Steam;
3) Linux -> SteamOS+Linux (note the order) -> SteamOS. Silent replacement of the brand.

Gabe Newell was a Microsoft employee! I mean, that, 1992, Bill's Microsoft, not the current one. Embrace, Extend, Extinguish tactics is in his blood, I'm sure.
Omg,you sure dislike Valve don't you?

Check out Youtube trailer,it clearly says Linux at the end.

Whats wrong with SteamOS?These days most of the games only supports Ubuntu officially, but most of them also works on Arch,Fedora etc.

Again,i did the mistake guys.

Don't feed the troll.
