Quoting: Alm888Guys, why do you think it will come to Linux? There are no mentions of Linux on their site.

Only Windows PC, PlayStation 4, Mac and SteamOS. No mention of Linux.
Your trolling level is so damn high!!!

Mesa has a patch from a Valve developer to help ARK Survival Evolved run on the open source drivers

Quoting: RussianNeuroMancerI don't think this is good idea. Wouldn't it will be better to ask game developers fix their engine?

I also pretty sure someday they will decide to update their engine, probably require higher OpenGL version, discover that Mesa for some reason report 3.2 to the game while support 4.5 or 4.6, they could make another workaround, instead of fixing thing right way, or straight declare Mesa as unsupported driver.
They will update their engine with Vulkan.

Quoting: TeodosioThat games is not available on Mac. However, I don't see any threads in the Steam Forum asking for when it will be available.
The GNU/Linux thread had a very large number of posts.
Anybody willing to reason on this?
My guess is because Apple's hardware limitations. There are some configurations and that's it.

If they know their hardwares are not capable of these new games at the moment, then it's normal not to be asked by Mac folks.

Quoting: LeopardPeople says "i buy games from Gog,because it's drm free",why is this such a big deal?
And why is it a small deal? By using DRM-free distributor, you vote with your wallet.
What?!

Valve doesn't point a gun in your head when buying from Steam, you vote with your wallet there too.

If you don't have a purpose like, buy drm-free game and copy them to your friends'ish thing;actually what's the point? And remember,if you do this that's not much different from piracy.

Seriously, when you buy a game from Steam or Itch;mostly you can play it without an internet connection. If you say i'm formatting my system so much and i need these files so often,Steam has a backup option for that.

Literally,i don't get the point of people say "i love drm-free."

If you're buying and using every piece of software original, then what's the point?

Quoting: FutureSutureMeanwhile, it has been over a year since Galaxy released for Windows and Mac OS. The folks at GOG sure like to take their sweet time.
Actually i can't see a benefit from buying Linux games on Gog.

They didn't give a shit about Linux(Client is not available for Linux,The Witcher 1 and Witcher Card Game has Windows+Mac support but not Linux),so is the drm free is the only thing?

People says "i buy games from Gog,because it's drm free",why is this such a big deal?

At this point, buying a game for Linux from out of Steam or Itch.io is felt like a treason. They support Linux,so why we buy games from Linux haters?

Quoting: Whitewolfe80Valve didn't abandon the Linux community, actually at last two months they're very interested with Linux.

Valve assigned developers to focus on Amd Mesa drivers. You can find it on GoL.One for the gathering list of games which didn't work or works broken with Amd Mesa drivers and start to fix them, the other one is they hired another developer for Amd Mesa which this developer works previously on Nvidia open source drivers.

They already did major updates Linux Steam Client and also they provided latest graphics cards compability for SteamOS recently.

Gabe Newell didn't answer any questions about Linux/SteamOS at AMA because there was so many questions(nearly 1500),which most upvoted queetions generally answered.Since most of the people don't know anything about Linux,Linux related questions couldn't get so many upvotes.

Of course if a game comes with triple platform support,GoG will sell it.Since developer make it compatible, why don't sell this to other platforms?
In your opinion in my opinion he deliberately avoided linux questions because he did not want to answer them because he knew the answers would not go down well. Also I should of said not completely abandonded Linux but for me people white knight valve for basically no reason of course they fixed the client its how they make money.[/quote]What you except him to say?

Before Steam comes to Linux, literally there was nothing.Which Steam came to Linux in 2013.In these past three years Linux gaming is grown more than ever. That's not very possible to overthrow leading gaming platform Windows in just three years.

Valve leads and tries to aim developers for Vulkan now.Which is way better and promising than OpenGL and a real competitor to DirectX.With Vulkan SteamVR is gonna be available for Linux.

GOG didn't give a shit about Linux. For example;Witcher 1 and Witcher Adventure game has Windows+Mac support but there is no sign of Linux versions of them.

For me;buying from GOG just pointless. You will be buying from a shop that wishes you to disappear from his shop, never to return.
