Ahhh, Cube, good old times. I made quite a few levels for this game that made it into the official releases. I loved the simplicity and elegance of this engine, it's so much fun to make levels with it. It has a lot of restrictions, but in my book, that's a good way to spark creativity. Sauerbraten / Cube 2 was very fun to make levels for too, but you had so many possibilities that making levels took much longer than with the original Cube.

Quoting: ChronariusThe storms last for a fixed time, which is 8 or 10 minutes I think. You were probably spending time in a low stability area, and that is badly explained in the game. The storms are there for story purpose (albeit not in the game yet) and as a player, its the perfect time to farm for temporal gears (for those awesome translocators (teleporters)) and rusty gears (the currency in game). Build an area that gives you an advantage against the endless wave of drifters, go there when the storms are about to start and reap the rewards.Quoting: TheSHEEEPThe second thing you describe is a temporal storm. Those happen every few days.It does not only happen every few days IT ALSO HAPPENS FOR DAYS. For that time I should sit in my hut/shack/dirt hole?
Twiggling Thumbs and do nothing? Vintage Story is a good game, except this "temporal storm" bullshit! This has no use in the game then just to annoy you. Bring on some "real" stuff and not such "oh I need some shit to annoy the shit out of people" stuff.

The game is designed to be hardcore, a bit like the roguelike games of old, where you learn by playing, and not everything is in tutorials. Having grown on Rogue and Nethack, I feel right at home in there and I actually enjoy the learning process. There are also a large number of video guides on YouTube for everything, and there's a #gameplay channel on the official Discord where we will happily answer all your questions. There are also many semi-public servers where the communities are fantastic, my favorite is Aura Fury. The players already established on there will happily help you if you ask for it. There's almost always people on the AF discord voice channels that will happily answer any questions if you prefer live conversations.

Quoting: inlinuxdudeYeah, you need one of each class, and a ton of medics to do the fighting haha.Quoting: DrakkerUnless they tweaked it over the years, medics are not only strong fighters, they are totally overpowered! Their berserk thing when used by an experienced player made them close to unstoppable.I'd say they're strongest with a team of fully leveled up medics that can support one another (and fully revive one another). Of course, engineers are also critical, and other classes can have their functions also.

Their berserk thing when used by an experienced player made them close to unstoppable.Quoting: iiariI have heard great things about this old title but never played it in the day. Is it worth trying in the modern age for those without any nostalgia?ET: Legacy still has an active community nowadays, although the skill level is high given some players have been around for more than 15 years now. It's one of the earlier successful examples of a class-based multiplayer FPS, but class layout isn't quite as restrictive as they would be in a game such as Team Fortress 2 (medics are really strong fighters, for instance).
If you're a new player, I recommend playing on the TeamMuppet Legacy public server. It may take a bit to get used to the gameplay, but I think it's worth it :)

I share the same concerns with the Microsoft account... but the problem fixed itself for me. Now that I got hooked to Vintage Story, there is no way I can ever come back to Minecraft.
