Quoting: vipor29kinda of suprised to see doom 2016 and doom eternal are not listed seeing they run great, maybe the next update. those would be great games to take on the go.It is quite obvious that the list is growing in sort of random manner. Devil May Cry 5 just got added in this batch, but it was already one of the games that was allowed be shown for preview. There is clearly lot more games that will get rated as verified or playable. They either are slowly processing it to dump it in big batches prior release or it just takes more time than expected and it will slowly trickle as time goes. I was kinda hoping that by the end of this week the list will be at ~1000 at least and something like 5000 on release date would be something that would look quite good.

Anyone thinking about using current beta client should be careful as it currently has nasty issue on certain distributions where the client only renders black content and buttons don't really work. Check issue link for possible workaround or stay on stable version.

AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution comes to Gamescope for the Steam Deck

I can also imagine it being used in simple games where the scaling might not affect the quality much (some simple 2D games?) where it could possibly improve battery life.

Quoting: CybolicWhile I haven't had any use for FSR on my desktop, I can definitely see it being useful on a 7-inch screen with limited battery life! It wouldn't surprise me if some games even look better than native with a bit of that sharpening on the small screen.Seriously doubt that with such a low resolution you will ever get better looking result, because the source resolution will have to be even lower and there just might not be enough information to upscale in the first place, definitely not with reasonable quality. With FSR being applied fullscreen you will also get all texts and HUD scaled, and just that will be noticable on its own (it is noticable when you apply FSR on 1440p using ultra quality preset => which effectively scales 1108p to 1440p). This will most likely be utilized for external monitors and some heavy games where people will accept the quality loss.

Unless a studio lost the sources or the libraries, there is little excuse now to not add support. It's even less effort for BattlEye and has been for a while now, and yet I can't think of one game that has asked BattlEye to flip the switch.
Well done, both Valve and Epic!

Quoting: damarrinThe price is a problem, then.Personally I would rather not pay for Windows at all, if the price is fair (even equal, I would rather not chose Windows). But this pricing is indeed weird, the sales price seems to be the correct price. So either they are bullshitting with the sale just to push people to go and buy it now, or there is something rotten about it.
Windows is “not free” so even if prices were the same, customers would see value in getting something that costs money as the Windows license could come in handy, even if they were planning to install Linux.
Few will buy the Linux version and it’ll be discontinued citing lack of customer interest.
A whole bunch of games just got Steam Deck Verified

I have been checking few games from that list, Dishonored does not appear to be rated yet. Not sure why it is on the list.

Quoting: XpanderUI scaling should be standard for all games imo. So people can adjust accordingly for their screens and needs.Well, it's never that simple and most devs never really expected such small screen and obviously didn't even have one to test for it. But once Steam Deck gets around lot of these playable games will bump up once they fix it, when the devs sees that is the only issue thats stopping him from getting that green rating.

Isn't PVP basically broken in this game? If Steam forums and many reviews are any indication, the game's community is pretty toxic with people just bullying weaker players and lot of griefing, spawn killing, etc., because the game allows for that type of play and time wasting. All of that being excused by the part of that community that is doing it as "part of the game", "realistic pirating" or just "suck it up", while actively disagreeing with any needs for fixing glaring problems that allow for all of that.

Quoting: TermyDoes anyone know what the hell they are including to make it that big? Even with several proton-versions preinstalled it shouldn't get up to 10GB, let alone 24.Well, we actually already know they are going with the immutable filesystem and image based updates route like Silverblue with focus on Flatpaks for user applications. 10GB sounds reasonable if they actually provide entire desktop experience with apps ready to use. Who knows, the question is what/why was it 24GB big before and how they managed to save 14GB.
Or are they maybe going in the silverblue-direction and include a bunch of redundant libraries?

I like it. I don't know what people expected, they didn't promise anything else than just slightly different case. The plastic logo being embedded instead of just "ironed" on is a nice touch. The interesting thing is the bottom of the case though, with the strap and what looks like indentation where you probably can fit and carry the charger. Might be first time we saw the bottom of the case.

Quoting: EhvisIt always did that. Shrinking it is probably not an option, because if you are able to come too close to it, you might exploit for some protection, because the trader walls are indestructible. If anything, some more clear indication would be probably better solution... let's say, some sort of (red?) flood lights around the compound to indicate where the border is. I can imagine some better iteration will come, but probably isn't on the top of the list currently. Mods might provide some nicer solution.Quoting: SadLIt would be nice if they shrunk the teleport box a bit so it would only teleport yourself away if you got inside or on top of any of invulnerable blocks. Now it also does it when you just clip the corner when running around it.Quoting: slaapliedjeEvery time I play this, I run into a show stopping bug. Last time it was whenever I'd get near the Trader's door, it'd teleport me away...You mean you were getting teleported away even after 6:05? Are you sure the trader was open?
