Quoting: ElvanexI picked this game up a few months ago on your recommendation, and it has quickly become my go to shooter, and replaced CS:GO for me completely. :) Definitely more than worth the price, and a very high quality Linux version. This game needs more attention for sure.
it needs more players for sure very worried it wont be around in a year

Quoting: Whitewolfe80Still confused as to how the a charity that distributes food for failed countries that cannot or will not support its people imperialist but hey to each his own. (in case you're wondering Imperial countries do the opposite of that)
I was going to keep out of this thread, because I think some charities are definitely worthwhile. (And it's getting a little OT.) However, this statement is very wrong. There are many different ways that charities can perpetuate imperialism. The most obvious ways are those that give goods in exchange for something, e.g. oil, deals, Christianity. The other way is what you imply… by the direct donation of goods. Many "charities" rely on over-production of local goods to flood the market. For example, a company (or government) might have a glut of wheat, T-shirts, etc. for whatever reason. These are then "donated" to developing nations. It's a tax write-off for the company. And the receiving country gets a glut of goods that floods their market, driving down prices of locally-produced goods, and killing the local industry. The developing country is then reliant on donations for the future… making it a subject of the "charity".

OTOH "good" charities (e.g. Oxfam) often have an exit strategy. They have an aim to set up sustainable industries in the country. Similarly, as citizens, it's often best to donate cash rather than tin cans, clothes, etc.
Mmm i see where you are coming from but I completely disagree with you. Looking at Humble bundle the main charity they are donating too is Medicine sans frontiers (doctors without borders) these are volunteer doctors who put themselves in harms way to try to help as many people as possible. The donations pay for medication food and blankets. We could argue how the people came to need those services all day but it hardly relates to gaming.

Quoting: GuestI'm not giving money to charities anymore, a lot of them are just first world puppets supporting imperialism.

If i want a game i want to pay the developers, if i want to be hypocritical and think i'm a good person by giving money to charities i can donate directly, but not for games.

HITMAN for Linux officially announced, port by Feral Interactive and arriving this month

Quoting: skinnyrafI have been a fan of Bethesda games since, well, Daggerfall. Morrowind is for me the best cRPGs ever, even today. Dishonored, Skyrim, TESO, even Fallout 3.

But while I'd love to play DOOM or Dishonored 2 (or Witcher 3, though not from Bethesda), I don't feel like paying Bethesda (or CDProjekt) and then having to struggle to get them running with Wine. Between Feral and plethora of great indies I have more than enough to play. It's not like it's Nethack or Quake and little more.
I agree there are a bunch of games I would love to see on Linux but game support is not that bad Wine can make up for some games but its a balancing act either you go full Linux and take a chance on a port or wine or go to Windows and deal with all of that stuff.

Feral Interactive have released the HITMAN system requirements for Linux, NVIDIA & AMD supported

Quoting: eldersnakeThis game will be interesting on my system.

I run latest Mesa git, have an AMD 380X GPU. 16GB RAM. So no probs there.

But my CPU is Intel Pentium G4560 (Kaby Lake), so I guess the equivelent-ish of a Core i3.
Well the g4560 runs hitman fine under windows judging by gameplay videos on youtube

Interview with Aspyr Media about porting Civilization VI to Linux and other interesting questions

Quoting: no_information_hereGreat interview, Liam!

Aspyr don't have a big catalogue of ports, but if I look at my library, sitting at or near the top are:

Borderlands 2
Borderlands TPS
Civ V
KOTOR 2

These have some of the highest playtime hours of anything I own. Total respect.

Edit: While we are making our Aspyr wishlists, I would say Borderlands 1 and KOTOR 1, please!
Mafia 2 and 3 would be good I can get 2 to run in wine just fine but its not the same.

Quoting: operaThx for the interview. Very interesting insights. I am very curious which IPs they will port this year.
I recently read somewhere that the next Call of Duty might be going back to a Vietnam War setting. That would be a pretty neat title to port.
Activision means it wont happen in anyway shape or form unless the board can be convinced there is money on the table and at the minute they simply are not into paying for the native porting work.
