So valve "console" a stupid idea a licenced product is more likely if they came back but like i said if you were third party licence manager and you saw hot fast valve dropped advertising the steam machines would you even be vaguely interested.

Quoting: MohandevirWell i could of gone with retarded financially irresposible dumb fuck decision but i thought silly covered it theres a reason sega arent in the console business anymore and even nintendo had to be bailed out of going bankrupt after the diaster that was wii u. Granted it was never in real danger because of the amount capital the shareholders have but still. MS looses money on every xbox 1 sold still Sony i think break even now on every ps4 they all attempt to recoup the money in game sales. Wheres the problem steam has games i hear you say yes it does third party games that you can buy on epic store or gog the valve exclusives tap died out a long time ago.Quoting: Whitewolfe80Personnally, I doubt that we'll ever see another wave of Steam Machines, if they don't intend to go "the silly way". All these tweaks are probably Steam Cloud Gaming oriented (you know, Steam Linux streaming servers) and the desktop user might gain new features because there is no reason to not let them (Steam in-home streaming and the diy sofa gamers).Quoting: rustybroomhandleI still think all of this is leading up to a second attempt at Steam Machines, except this time with Valve also being the hardware provider.I dont think they are silly enough to be a hardware provider i think they will go for the licence model again but how many takers there will be after the first attempt bombed.
I would be the happiest guy to be proven wrong.

Quoting: KimyrielleIt is alternative history on the grounds it didnt happen so by nature its alternative history but i would imagine its germany and russia alliance held and france and britain surrenderedQuoting: Whitewolfe80That a strategy game is winnable even by the side that historically did not, is not alternate history, it's the nature of a strategy game. Alternate history would be e.g. if WWII was started by the British Empire invading the Soviet Union with the help of the Japanese navy.Quoting: KimyrielleI'd be curious what the "alternate" history is and how it ties into the storyline, but couldn't find anything about it on their website or on Steam.
I am guessing its like panzer general where it is possible to win in europe and start a mainland invasion of the USA i did that it took nearly six months, what helped was signing a truce then eventual alliance with the British Empire which gave me canada to launch attacks from as well as a bump in avilable personel if its something like that i am down.

Its the reason i played the civil war games as the confederates its a more challenging position you have to make the most with the least. Like the navy blockade I cant compete so dont try make it a land war develop land locked states and postion armies around a core defendable area and let the enemy waste man power on fighting your guerilla tactics. Sorry way off topic potentially interesting game.

mmmm curious i wonder how much valve is making off linux gamers using proton it must be more than they are spending on dxvk development and mesa improvements otherwise one would assume their patience will run out eventually. I know they crap money but after dealing with big corporations aquistions for most of my career i doubt they are willing to lose money perpectually.
The first DXVK release of 2020 is here with plenty of D3D9 improvements

Mmm very first or last samurai on the Amiga looks very promising. Will give demo a chance depends big time on price I do like the graphic style of the game. I liked shovel knight too but still feel that 18.99 is too much even for a game like shovel knight I think 10 to 15 pounds would of been on the money for it back when it launched.

Quoting: PatolaI am curious. What is so special about Civilization V mechanics (compared to other versions) that is so worth mimicking? Tried to find that on the project page but couldn't.They took out a number of gameplay elements in civ 6 and oversimplified the military aspects small and big changes really. In civ 5 you can create and stack an army in civ 6 you can't
