I dont know they didnt strike down sigill did they and hes not affliated with Id or Bethesda anymore as long as this is a mod and not commercial should be fine. Now if they start selling it as a stand alone then they would be screwed legally speaking.

It's from 1998 though, a year before Warzone 2100 came out. There must have been something in the water back then to produce such classics in such a tight grouping (14 months in total)!

Ahh mid to late 90s was a great time to be into rts games so many classics its a shame the era ground to halt with the release of red alert 3 as there really hasnt been one as good since then. Rusted the indie game is fun but they dont have the budget to make a game with the whole over the top cheese tastic cutscenes that made c and c stand out. Warcaft 2/3 AGE of games/Command and Conquer/Act of war/Warzone/Panzer Assault 3d/Warhammer SoHR/Dark Omen/Dark Reign/Kohan Immortal/Empire/Dawn of war ahh great games. In the 2000's even had Dune 2000 which is still fun and avilable for free thanks to grunt mod version and the 3d Emperor battle for Dune dated visuals but still great fun. I ll be honest very few games get me excited the same way those titles did and still do whenever someone says rts now i just know its going to be a bloody mobile game with in app purchases. The exception are the total war games but even they dont have the base building that i loved so much in those old rts games.

Well I had not heard of this game and maybe its just me but this game doesnt seem it should of taken longer that 2 years to make as it doesnt look that complex from a design point of view. So am guessing four years was taking the piss judging by the publisher dropping them. That is the problem with inde projects if the main dev has poor health there is no plan B and invetitably game funding goes on funding care to get back to work.

While a person health is ultimately way more important that a project,Project management is something indie studios either need to invest in or hire someone what will kick ass if its needed to get the project on track. The mark of sucessful indie team is delivering on time and ideally under budget.

Which goes back to the "there's simply no excuse" argument I gave above... The developer / publisher is just being too lazy.

The developer was one man Ryan C Gordon and the publisher is Nightdrive studios and my understanding is they do not own the IP they licenced it from Disney who hold the rights after purchsing it in 2008 after the bomb that was the 360/pc updated turok Which is why its a licensing issue they do not have the rights to push it out to gog because they only agreed to sell it via steam.

well the only responses are from twitter which basically say its probably not going to happen, The Gordon port on steam is kind of it aparently whilst nightdrive studios got permission to sell via steam they did not factor into that deal the ability to sell linux ports on other platforms. There are a ton of vague because licences comments but essentially do not hold your breath. You could tweet nightdrive about Turok 2 for gog, at this point maybe GOL could get a straight yes or no from them.
