You could add a report to ProtonDB game 33229 [External Link] , to me is looks like no one has made a report for this game yet.
Might be a bit early for that first level no problems second level 2 minutes in and i had to ssh into the box to kill the game but will have a go at the settings when i get more time.

Quoting: TheRiddickIs this game better to run via steamplay then using the native client?
native is fine if you run nvidia you should be fine noticed odd frame timings with my amd card. Steamplay didnt really notice the frame time issue but i need to be play it for longer to check.

Quoting: GuestArgh, still needs gnomedesktop as a dependency. As much as I want to try lutris, until that's no longer the case then I simply can't use it. Ah well, still a nice project anyway.
But it's just the library, not the whole desktop, I think? Like a single .so file?
It's a python binding, that pulls in some other things, that ends up pulling in most of the desktop support libraries, and at least for me wants to then include Ruby as well. Most of it is probably there for Debian based distros. I'm just grumbling.
I mean its one guy and his reasons for preferring python are long but if you tune into the linux game cast you ll find him happy to take feedback hes always in the chat there under the handle Stycore
Nothing against python, and indeed there's evidence of Stycore getting annoyed on the subject of the "gnome desktop library" (no, it's not the entire desktop). It's basically just the dependency chain on Gentoo being a little too long for my personal taste. Obviously some of the deps are related to needing webkit-gtk (it has a browser of sorts after all), but I'm not sure what's trying to pull in so much of Ruby just yet.
(--edit: heh, it's webkit-gtk)

I do wonder if perhaps a non-graphical lutris might be able to strip some of the deps down, but still provide the core feature set.
It could be my coding is not upto the task but maybe worth asking around to see if someone can do the work

being working on lutris for about 3 months
Really? Under 'wine steam' (where I crash back to desktop)?
Or do you use another 'manager' - or a particular wine/proton version?
Much obliged.
No i use lutris and the script on there never had a problem
you will need the following

corefonts
d3dx9
tahoma
vcrun2005
vcrun2008
vcrun2010
also windows 7 then run it in 1024 x 768 to get it running then switch to what ever your screen resolution any kind of AA and it will crash.
My apologies for answering so late, didn't find the opportunity to try it out until this evening.
Holy Throne! It works! Just butchered myself through hordes of orks and goblins.
Thanks again!
No worries enjoy and happy orc slaying

Quoting: BielFPsNice news. Unfortunately since Borderlands 3 will be Epic Store exclusive, I have almost no hope about having a linux version (with is bad since I'm a big fan of the Borderlands series)
Hey, if Gearbox doesn't want our money, screw 'em. In this case it's only six months, so get it on a Steam winter/Summer sale a year after it releases. Apparently there's a $250 preorder package available for the game. None of us are going to order that because it requires Windows. I haven't heard, is the EPIC store running via WINE yet?
Apparently not Gearboxs call well at least according to Randy Pitchford 2k decided it should be exclusive to Epic store which is not good news for Xcom 3

Quoting: einherjarIt does not start Just Cause 3. But it runs fine with lutris (my son plays it with lutris).

Perhaps it will work with the next update. I'll be waiting, as I don't want to deal with lutris actually.
Really each to their own but its really simple to use i find i get it if you arent happy with linking your steam library but i prefer lutris over proton because i have more control over the configuration.
To things let me prefer proton over lutris:

1. Using Proton tells the dev/publischer the money comes from a Linux-User
2. When I want to play, I just want to play --> Klick play and that's it :-)
Fair enough but I have never not been able to click play on lutris but i get get that point but to be honest we have all the publishers we are ever going to have Bethesda EA Ubisoft and Activision are never ever going to support linux not even with Valve supporting linux gaming. I think the only way you would get one of them to say okay well support linux is if the install base is more than the windows base.
