Quoting: GuestAnd it's opt-in... Fantastic 🙄Pretty much the only way this would work is opt-in. Any attempts to bypass the anti-cheat without support would risk looking like cheating!

Planetside 2... I last played that in 2012, on Windows, a year before jumping ship forever. It's... it's still going???
This is all just incredible. Amazing. I'm gobsmacked. Valve just smacked me in the gob!

Quoting: constYeah, Dash to Panel is amazing and can be positioned anywhere. It's an essential extension to gnome, catapulting it from "frustrating and baffling" to "traditional, flexible and beautiful". Love it. KDE's panel is... it's okay. Once I figure out how to theme it with better fonts and add decent widgets, I'm sure it'll compare.Quoting: ridgeWould really love to try GNOME on some of my devices, but I hate the top bar and want a traditional panel on the bottom.. It's what keeps me using KDE on 100% of my computers.Installing a gnome shell extension like dash to panel neither?
No, I do not consider tweaking/hacking the shell an option :P

I got it working too - a bit janky... it crashed when I tried to bring up the overlay, then wouldn't run again until I restarted the whole of steam.
As for disabling Async, there's a much easier way to do that without having to edit files:
Then switch this to "On"

Oddly enough, I've just installed KDE and given it a shot. I'm on it right now and there's a lot to love, but there's still a few things I do miss from my beloved Gnome 3.38. There's no expo when you press the Super key, just some ancient-looking menu that appears. I guess that's more familiar to Windows escapees, but it's jarring after a few years on Gnome-shell.
I also miss a lot of the gnome extensions I ended up relying on. It's early days though, so perhaps I'll find KDE equivalents for these in due course. I had a lovely CPU/Net history thing on my top panel - can't find a good one of those yet. I'll keep searching.
Finally, the panel font in KDE is pretty naff. I'm sure that theme-related, so I'll keep hunting.
All that to say, Gnome is really, really beautiful, and flexible in ways that I think KDE people have previously looked down on a little. But with a bit of work, you could put either in front of me and I'd be a happy penguin.

Some of the distant scenes are unnecessarily sharpened with FSR, but the closer models look incredible. Loving FSR - I play most games at 1080p now and they're just seamlessly upscaled to 4K and while I won't get the same crispness as playing at 4K, I'm guaranteed 60fps, even on complex titles/scenes.

This is just payback for all those streams where you play a game that I instantly go out and buy (most recently Everspace 2, but also Beat Sabre, Pistol Whip and probably more)!

Quoting: Liam DaweBeen watching Corben stream quite a lot of this, and it runs well, which is really frustrating (for you) because he's on similar hardware, I think?Quoting: pete910@Liam, I noticed on your steam review you had issues with FPS drops have you managed to solve the problem ?Nope, the issue persisted. There's an entry on ProtonDB [External Link] with someone showing the same issue, with ProtonDB still giving it the thumbs up on that entry which I find hilarious because it makes it unplayable.

Quoting: elgatilWell, the description of the beta channel is:Well, as you can see in my Steam comment, I did try the black screen fix, but it didn't work. However, given that others HAVE gotten this to work on AMD, I'm probably going to buy this bundle anyway, and give it another shot, probably this weekend. Fingers crossed.
"Testing an update for a possible fix for the black screen issue encountered by some SteamVR players"
so at least a little they care.

Well, the devs don't seem to care about their game on Proton, judging by this lack of interaction:
