Quite a lot of folk don't seem to understand that this is Jaycee's opinion, not an official CDPR press release.

Also, hate is never justified. But criticism can be justified easily, even if it's not always welcome.

Finally, I wish people would stop pointing at Torvlads, or Stallman as justification for abuse. You might as well throw Jobs in there too. These people are/were revered for their vision despite their often abhorrent people skills. Again, there's no justification for hate.

Some people ditch Windows because they are fed up with DRM. Same people usually don't use Steam ;) You can see a lot of such folks among GOG users.

If GoG released their Galaxy client for Linux, I'd likely buy there first, every time. Until then though, I can't be bothered with a) their inconsistent release policy, b) constantly having to patch my own games, c) the lack of a "steam cloud" (although not all games support steam's version, sadly), and d) the lack of any kind of friends browser for finding a multi-player game that isn't full of holes. As in "ass".

Once GoG sort that out, they'll have a pretty devoted customer here. Until then, I'd rather find my DRM on Humble.

2 reasons: it's in Alpha; they would rather have a launcher.

If they don't provide a deb/ppa, they've basically got one less tester over here. I suspect that I'm the tip of a fairly big Ubuntu-shaped iceberg.

Sure, if I'm incredibly bored, I might give it a go, but honestly, the last time I had time on my hands, I briefly looked at this, then ended up downloading the awesome OpenMW instead.

I'm pretty gutted about this. I wasn't really aware of this game until this issue and I'd probably have bought it if I known - I love the walking-sim genre.

I just wish the Dev wasn't so focused on helping everyone. The support goal should be steamos and ubuntu, to hell with the rest. It's nice to be nice, but when you're running a business, you have to be realistic.

So yeah, hugely disappointed with this. I'd be buying it otherwise.

On a more positive note - I'm really enjoying Quern at the moment. It's a walking-sim-with-puzzles, in the style of The Room (a little - mostly I mean in the way you interact with objects). Lots of fun, if a bit frustrating at times.
