Quoting: PlayXnot working for me.Same here. Been stung by this kind of quality control before, so I'm gonna refund it now, then see if they fix it quickly. If so, I'll be happy to buy it again.
stuck at the aduld swim logo
after copy some mono and plugin files from another unity game I could get to main menu, but if I try to start a game, then nothing happens.
maybe they pressed only the "export to linux" button without testing
The developers of Mantis Burn Racing are open to bringing the game to Linux, if there’s enough interest

I do enjoy this kind of game though, so it's good to see some (quality) competition.

Quoting: DamonLinuxPLLooking very similar to Little Street Racer.True, but Mantis is much prettier, I think [External Link], and there's something about how "vertical" Little Racers camera stands that put me off it. I tended to find that I needed to run each race in that game a couple of times because a few turns were so sudden, I couldn't prepare for them. From memory, it was also a wee grindy to get better cars, but no idea how Mantis compares in that regard.

Albion Online to revamp the Hell Gate battles

PvP is exciting, but Albion's red areas mean full gear loss on death, which makes it extremely risky. It's pretty harsh. I'd okay more PvP if it was a percentage of your carried gold or similar. Or even a percentage of your overall wealth.

Quoting: GuestAny ideas when this game may go live? I want to play it but the prospect of yet another character wipe keeps me from jumping in with every update. I keep it installed just in case, but pretty sure I'll just wait until they stop with the character wipes before I start really playing.Still a way to go. The last ever character wipe and go live date is July 17th [External Link]. So, nearly 10 weeks to figure the game out and decide how you want to play it.

I've been playing this (nearly) every day since about a fortnight ago. Only Tier-4 stuff for me, but that's because I'm a fire mage, holy healer, nature/druid, ranger, fighter. Not to mention Tier-3 crafting of all tools and weapons, nearly Tier-4... and a gatherer, lumberjack, stonemason guy. Oh, and I just bought my own island and I'm a level 10 farmer now, and have my own Adept repair station.
So much variety! Obviously, this isn't how you should play the game... but you can if you want to! I'm just trying everything out that I can so that I can focus when the big reset takes place in July.
Next time around, I'll focus on nature and ranger. I'll probably do the gathering stuff - hide, lumberjacking and stonemasonry, then focus on building bows. I'll definitely do the island thing. It's like a farmville mini-game...
Phenomenal stuff. Yes, it's a bit grindy if you want to be insane like me and try a bit of everything, and yes, I agree with Liam - the PvE is a bit sparse, and the single-player PvE is utter pants, very boring. But still, cracking game overall.
All it needs is a GamingOnLinux.com guild. :D

Wine 2.7 is out with shader improvements for Direct3D 11

Re-reading that paragraph I just wrote, I'm now worried that someone will smugly complain that it's not "emulating its system calls"... since technically it's replacing and redirecting those calls. And that's fine if it make any material difference to how you think about wine. I don't think it will.

Quoting: GuestWhat's the problem, exactly? Wine isn't emulating windows directly, but it's emulating its system calls. It's such a irrelevant distinction, I can't see why people get upset over this. What does it actually matter?Quoting: Whitewolfe80we can argue the technical terms but in laymen terms it emulates itThats exactly the problem, people think its an emulator because of all the confusion from people such as yourself, who say "it emulates" when in fact it doesn't.
In laymans terms, emulation and virtual enviroments are 2 completely different things.
Shall we call Windows, PC?

Some thoughts on 'Hollow Knight', an incredibly rich and unexpectedly great game

That said, it's about the only thing I have an issue with in the game. Absolutely superb.

Quoting: no_information_hereThe game is a mix of modern design with a few things that give old-school difficulty. I don't want to say the game is too hard, since most of it is completely fair. However, a few scattered optional areas are brutal (I can't finish the last 1% after 40+ hours). These things do not affect the main story ending(s), so don't worry that the devs are being unfair. They are completely optional. As with many metroidvanias, you can learn the enemy actions and adapt so battles that seemed hard at first get much easier with practice.I still get occasional flashbacks to the Mantis Lords fight. And yet... despite taking about 10 attempts, the feeling when you finally do it - that's why you play these games, I think. Just epic.
Quoting: no_information_hereThe other difficulty is mapping. You have to explore new areas without a map until you find the map-maker in the section. At first I was annoyed, but then I came to appreciate having to really pay attention to where I was going. Not a fan of this decision. It's just tedious exploring areas without the map - while each area is beautiful and unique, large sections within each area are incredibly same-y, which makes finding your around a complete chore.
That said, it's about the only thing I have an issue with in the game. Absolutely superb.
Spaceship building and battler 'BossConstructor' adds new free content

Yeah, this is a great constructor game, but I agree - it's a hard game to "get into", because of weird menu options and lacklustre plot.
Even stranger - I prefer Reassembly, which has no plot to speak of at all, but focuses purely on the creation of bigger and more aggressive ships and fleet.
I still spent a fair bit of time playing this though. It's really good and great to see free content for it.

Plays beautifully with a controller.
As for the developers, I had a great experience trying to get my Steam controller working -turned out to be my controller, not their game, but that didn't stop one of the Devs pm'ng me on Discord to talk me through the log upload procedure and then help troubleshoot the issue. Great service!
