Just opt into the Steam beta, and you're done. All the details are in the original article linked in this article.

Quoting: CloversheenNeat, now if only it correctly read the keyboard input when trying to set a shortcut, apparently F12 is the same as [ and F11 is Z...
I guess you can set it to whatever you need. I use CTRL-PAGEUP for marking, and CTRL-PAGEDOWN for capture. I just don't use it very often though (see my Microphone comment above), so I don't know other keys are matching that combination and triggering.

Quoting: _MarsNow I just need an option to record my microphone and I might actually use this. It's so close.
I'm in the same boat. Frustrating, as they acknowledged the issue about four releases ago.

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoMeanwhile LUTRIS is still with the version 8-26 shown as "stable"
Lutris is switching to ULWGL for later wine versions. See this Lutris forum response [External Link] on why 8-26 is (probably) the last wine version that Lutris supports directly.

That said, I'm baffled as to how this actually works. Lutris still has a "wine version management" tool, and doesn't list ULWGL there, so I'm not really sure how you're supposed to configure this. I use Heroic these days which seems to have a much cleaner interface for this stuff. And the GOG authentication actually loads, unlike Lutris, which just times out.

I wanted to love this game, but it was pretty frustrating trying to train your avatar to do what you wanted.

Haha - it reminded me of the actual angry frustration I'd feel in later games like RimWorld where I want a certain job done right away, prioritise it as high as possible, deprioritise or remove EVERYTHING ELSE, and my workers either ignore me completely, continuing what they were already doing, or just to rub it in, sit around doing nothing! I'm practically shouting at the screen - DO THE THING!

Man, these colony-builders are clearly not for me.

I have to agree - the palette makes it difficult to distinguish enemies from background. Add in the Doom-style speedy-movement and I'm gonna struggle with this.

Reminds me of Mortal Sin [External Link] - a game I'd buy in a heartbeat if it only changed its colour palette!

Quoting: EhvisSounds kind of similar to the Campo Santo thing. Which was kind of sad because I wanted to see their next game. But it also gave us Half-Life: Alyx, which was amazing. So I do wonder what they're cooking up.
I'm still sad about Campo Santo. I loved Firewatch and the team joining Valve were adamant that they would get to finish their new game.

I had high hopes, but a few months later one of the team members claimed on Twitter they just being used to create assets for a new unreleased game. Turned out to be Underlords a year later. And while I enjoyed that game, it wasn't the Campo Santo game were were all waiting for, and which years later still hasn't surfaced. Slated for a 2029 release. [External Link].. that's some Valve time right there. Sigh.

KDE Plasma 6.2 adding a pop-up for donations, plus they want to make a next-generation KDE OS

Quoting: scaineNate Graham covered that in his post. The moment that you've just installed a desktop isn't the right time to ask for donations - you have no idea if you're sticking with the distro or desktop.
And I just covered that that welcome screen pops up on every new Plasma version... But let's make it more clear; so if a user keeps using Plasma, upgrades to 6.x, they'll get that window again with a mention to donate.
So you were ambivalent about plasma 5, you get the upgrade, a donation box pops up... are you going to donate?

Of course not. As I say, this is well covered in Nate's post. At the point of upgrade? That's not when you ask for funds with any success.

Quoting: emphyHowever much the funding is needed, it is an abuse of kde's position on the system it has been installed on.
Why? It's free software, simply asking for funding. That's an "egregious abuse" in your book? If so, your book is stunningly privileged. Free and Libre Open Source Software is an absolute anomaly in our (mostly) capitalist society. Give them some money, and if you have no money to give, then at least don't complain when they beg for funds once a year, in a trivially ignored pop-up.
