Quoting: BlackBloodRumDid they remove Denuvo yet?
According to Augmented Steam (extension for Firefox)... nope.

Nintendo goes after SteamGridDB, likely for people doing emulation on Steam Deck

I have fond memories of these guys - GBA, DS, 3DS, Gamecube, Wii, and even Wii U. It was that last one that broke me. Annoyingly, I'd bought it before they announced that they were closing the DS and Wii stores. If I'd seen that dick-move coming, I wouldn't have wasted my money.

They're repeating the move next year, closing 3DS and Wii U digital stores, presumably, again, to force existing customers to upgrade to Switch. But why bother? You know they'll just do it again, over and over - mediocre mid-term hardware release, then announce store closures of all older hardware.

Being a Nintendo fan at this point is like being an Apple fan. Same model really, and feasible if you keep opening your wallet.

Such an amazing game, especially in online co-op with a couple of friends. Absolute, utter, glorious chaos.

One of my favourite games of all time. Thanks to this news, I just had to start a new run!

Of Blades & Tails is a fresh turn-based action-RPG now in Early Access

Quoting: Nagezahn
Quoting: Purple Library GuyHow can turn-based combat reward quick decision-making? Is it not the nature of turn-based that you have time for your decisions?
The steam page says: "Turn-based Combat that allows for quick action or strategic planning"
And the trailer's descriptions starts with: "A turn-based RPG that is action-oriented but rewards a thoughtful approach."
Tales of Maj'Eyal is similar in that there you can play it extremely quickly, but if you stop, the game stops. Combined with the auto-explore feature, these are games that are turn-based, but feel quite real-time.

That said, Tales of Maj'Eyal will frequently lull you into a real-time mindset, then you run into an Elite, it kicks your ass and there's a horrible temptation to rapidly hit buttons to run away - nope, you should have taken your time, realised that a teleport, a shield, or a stance-change was the better option for survival! Can't tell you how often I've died to things that I realised, belatedly, that I had defences against!

Spider-Man: Miles Morales gets Steam Deck Verified ahead of release

Quoting: Purple Library GuyI'm sure this Miles Morales is a good character and all, but for me, Spiderman is Peter Parker. I've known Peter Parker for nearly 50 years, and I just don't feel right about Spiderman being anyone else.
It's like if someone said "OK, we're doing another LoTR movie, but this time the ringbearer is going to be Merry's cousin Doderic Brandybuck. We think it's time to move on from Bagginses."
Agreed. Then I watched "Into the Multiverse" and I realised I was wrong. So very wrong.

"...hey"
and
"He CAN'T DO IT on demand!!"

Such a good film. Morales is amazing.

Soulstone Survivors might dethrone the likes of Vampire Survivors for me

I didn't think anything could rival Spellbook Demonslayers for variety and polish, but this one looks absolutely top-notch. I watched McQueeb playing this only a couple of days ago, really raving about it, and he's a big, big fan of the Horde Survival genre. Definitely going to buy this.

Rogue Legacy 2 had a major upgrade, and Native Linux support is coming

If that Linux version lands, I'll finally buy this. The first game was immense, and I was extremely disappointed when they didn't do a Linux version all those years ago. Okay, so it only launched into EA in June 2020, not THAT long ago, but it's felt like a long time.

FSR 2.1 is a game-changer for Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam Deck
9 Nov 2022 at 3:29 pm UTC Likes: 1

Did you never figure out that "look at floor/ceiling" bug? Was it reported elsewhere? Feels like it's controller related, but I never experienced it.

I guess the other advantage of having this built into the game (rather than relying on a full-screen hack) is that it will only need to apply FSR to the scene itself, and not the HUD too, which should make it even more crisp.

I never finished Cyberpunk 2077, despite nearly 50 hours played. There's so much in there, content-wise, I kept forgetting to progress the "real" story. Great game, lots of fun.

Elon Musk completes Twitter takeover, Nextcloud to ship their own social network app

I'm not a Musk fan. I'll be absolutely floored if Twitter is still a platform I want to be on, this time next year. To be honest, it's barely a platform I want to be on now!
