They also filed a patent for something similar back in 2011.

From the 2011 patent filing:

Wine 5.6 is out today with Media Foundation additions, more modules converted to PE format

Proton/Wine's purpose is to make Windows software run on Linux, warts and all. It's not there to solve civil issues. DRM is an issue that needs to be taken up with the developers/publishers, since they love it so much.

Valve and CodeWeavers now offering test builds of Proton before release with Proton 5.0-6 RC1 up

There's an AssCreed Oddyssey user patch that I am hoping will sneak its way into wine/proton main. It fixes the only minor issue I have with the game.

I tried using my HOTAS for this, and it works fine and felt good enough, but since I spend most of my time managing stuff in X4, not dogfighting, I don't really feel it benefits the experience for me. YMMV of course. Giving orders and autopilot all the way. :)

Weird though that I say this, because with X-Plane it's also mostly managing navigation and autopilot and I still have the HOTAS front and center.

X-Plane 11.50 has a first Beta with Vulkan API support which should improve performance

The only addon I use that I think will not work any more is a colour grading one I use. I guess vkbasalt will have to fill that gap.

Google announce multiple new games coming to Stadia with Gunsport a 'First on Stadia' title

Quoting: rustybroomhandleSadly for them, I think Stadia have already lost the cloud gaming war.
Why would they? They have more expertise than other cloud gaming providers. Nvidia is nowhere a competitor to Google in this sense, not even close. And Nvidia aren't even trying to compete with them in the sense of offering games. They simply offer cloud VMs (Windows only for that matter). So it's a different service in a sense.

Google actually enable multiplayer games that are based on their platform. Nvidia doesn't have anything like that. I'd say Google's main competitor in this sense is Amazon, not Nvidia.
The NVidia option lets you play way more games than Stadia does. Of all the options, Stadia is the weakest.

Quoting: ShmerlWe should make a wiki somewhere, for games that came out for desktop Linux due to coming to Stadia first. That's really the main interest in Stadia for me for now.
Metro Exodus is the only confirmed-to-be-in-worked-on one.

Wow. It's really smooth now. Ship AI seems better too. I wonder if it's good enough for them to turn collision damage back on.

Seems Valve do intend to go back to SteamOS at some point

That's the joy of Linux. You can use whatever distro you like and then go online to have religious battles about it. :)

Quoting: Wernersorry but i really must rant now, i can't hear that crap anymore about Manjaro or Arch based distributions, i get a lot of support requests because many sites now make articles that Manjaro is great for beginners or First Time Users :><:, sorry but WTF, no it is not great for beginners. Normal users don't need f**king bleeding edge the only thing they need is a updated hw stack and a stable base thats it.
If we're going to throw around generalisations, then I'll go with: Users want to be able to run the software they want to run. When it come to running non-standard type stuff, it's way easier to point a user to the AUR than to explain PPAs or Flatpak or such things. Same with drivers. "Bleeding edge" has its downsides, but Linux gaming is currently a teenager undergoing a huge growth spurt... you kind-of want the most up to date vulkan/gpu driver/ etc.

Also, Manjaro is hardly bleeding edge. It's just the right amount of conservative. imo.
