Quoting: DrMcCoy...So, is nobody going to ask what mysterious "legal reasons" these are?

EDIT: Like, seriously, no one here, nor on the GOG forums, is asking for them to elaborate? Everybody is just eating it up, no questions asked? As if "legal reasons" is just a valid carte blanche, instead of barely even an explanation?

I guess that's what I'm going to use next time I'm late for a meeting at work. "Why weren't you at the sprint review and planning today?" - "Legal reasons." - "Okay, move along."
I think the main reason for not asking is that there is roughly a 0% chance of an answer that is more informative than what you would get from ChatGPT. 😁

Quoting: Deleted_UserOn a side note: what's with this system requirements? 8 GB RAM and 16 GB of disc space for a game that is basically a text adventure with some animations?
Maybe the voice lines are stored as 24-bit, 192kHz, 7.1 channel uncompressed audio, and the static backgrounds are actually high resolution video loops.
If so, in an ideal world this game could have an HD extras pack.
Obviously I'm joking. Surely no developer would do something as pointless as that.
I can definitely imagine someone using the defaults of their toolset without researching what the reasonable values would be. Every time I convert or export audio files I pick the default or one higher 😅. If I were to make a game and never specifically look at file sizes, this could actually happen. But the same issue happening in multiple fields (audio, graphics) accidentally is considerably less likely.

As someone who is interested in that period's history and who played Age of Empires 1 as a child - I really enjoyed the old free alpha on Itch.io: https://lincread.itch.io/the-fertile-crescent [External Link]

I like this game a lot. For local multiplayer games, I feel handicap/equalization mechanics are vital to enable people of different backgrounds and skill levels to play together. UCH has such a mechanic, but it is implemented in a way that the lowest skill level threshold for having fun is to be able to reach the goal at least once (platforming + traps). That is not possible for everyone and thus at risk of much frustration - I can only play this with platforming-games-people.

Quoting: TermyCan the Index wake/shutdown the lighthouses in the meantime? Haven't used mine in quite a while tbh, but this alone was very disappointing...
For me, this has been working ever since I got my Index in 2024-02.

Quoting: chrEither some update in the last 2 months broke my Index setup somehow or the cable finally died. I spent an hour today trying to get it to work. Funnily enough, it worked on the worst attempt except for the sound. And then it never worked again no matter in what order I rebooted or connected the components 😕. Currently. I'm hoping a future version of me can be bothered to update my Ubuntu and hopefully any software issues may disappear.
I have had some random issues too, but last time I solved it by resetting the headset. If I remember correctly, it doesn't need more than unplugging the USB cable so it doesn't get power.
Thanks, I tried a bunch more of that but it didn't help.

I figured it out finally - the power cable to the display port repeater had become unplugged under the couch. I have working VR again!

Quoting: elmapulthe sex offenders is the biggest issue, but this is a problem in any online experience , i dont know about an solution that dont require parents monitoring what their kids are doing and only allowing then to play online when they are arround.
Supervision and education really are the only things that can be done here.
I disagree here. I think the service provider (Roblox) is best equipped to to supervise what happens in the communal spaces they built and they have an obligation (not legally though 🤬) to spend more of their precious profits on platform safety.
