Netflix is getting into video games, so we'll have another cloud gaming service

Quoting: Cybolic
Quoting: InterloperHonestly, after the Cuties incident [External Link], Netflix should not get any kind of publicity.

Nefarious and disgusting company. I hope they fail.
They made a terrible poster - let's not throw the whole company out over one bad marketing decision. If you have an issue with the movie itself, I suggest you read this [External Link] to at least get a picture of why it exists.
That defense is absolute hogwash. She is either dishonest and knew exactly what they were doing, or she seriously has the most flawed logic on this planet.

"Something is bad, so let's make a movie doing EXACTLY what we think is bad to show how bad it is"
Can't wait for their next movie where they actually kick and shoot puppies to show bad it is to kick and shoot puppies.
Or what about gun violence? Other, even more despicable acts?
Where's the line in what can be done to people in order to create a media product?
I'll tell you: The line was a few dozen kilometers before Cuties and they went over it with a nitro boost.

The whole company defended this disgusting piece of media and can be safely described as disgusting as a result, as can anyone else defending sexualization of minors.

But, honestly, you don't even need any of that to not like Netflix.
Them cancelling everything left and right that doesn't have the very highest viewership numbers is more than enough reason to not waste your money, IMO.
Just sub for maybe a month, watch what you want, then unsub again - if it really has to be.

Prepare for your favourite video game series getting cancelled before the conclusion of the story. Or any conclusion whatsoever.
Can't wait!

I'm only subbing to any of these to watch specific series (or movies) that are already concluded. Anything else just seems to be a waste of time.

The SteamOS-like Linux distribution GamerOS becomes ChimeraOS with a new release
4 Jul 2021 at 9:36 am UTC Likes: 4

Quoting: KevinjohnwimberlyOh I know! Imagine coming up with a name that shows this version has the DNA of two different distributions and is combined into a single usable platform! How awesome would that be! It'd also be just like what a Chimera is!!! Oh wait! Maybe they did think this out and people are just ignorant...
The only ignorant thing is assuming that having to know the entire backstory of a distribution in order to understand the name is a good idea.

Names are used to attract new people, not reaffirm existing ones. It is an advertisement of sorts and should be chosen with that in mind.
Once you're already "in", the name becomes kinda irrelevant as long as it isn't totally terrible. I use Manjaro - but at this point I couldn't care less if they changed the name to Everest.

Surreal point & click horror adventure Strangeland released for Linux

Just finished the game.

Yeah, it is very short, but at least it doesn't ask for $30 for a three hour ride.
Those three hours I found very much worth the asking price, and if you're into that, there is some replay value with a commentary mode.

Yeah, GamerOS was a somewhat cringe name - always made me think of the "How do you do, fellow kids?" meme except with gamers. So I do get why they were looking for something new.

But at least it was one of the only distros that told you what you were getting with the name - a fairly unique attribute.
Now it's kinda like every other distro.

Something was lost here, but not much gained in its place. Chimera? What does that have to do with gaming or ease of use/setup? It's honestly an even worse name...

Of course, "Gamers bad! Hurrr!"-people will love the change. Whatever.

Are the bots capable enough?

co-open is a wholesome game about shopping by yourself for the first time

How cute.

I remember one of my first times shopping alone, I actually stole a sausage.
Got it from the butcher (but you paid at the cash register) and some other stuff, then went on to pay, but noticed I didn't have enough money.
Since I couldn't exactly "put it back", I decided to store the sausage in my pants and just paid for the other stuff.

That day, a criminal mastermind was born.
Just a few months ago, I did it again and stole some yeast - this time, I didn't even notice doing it!
The package was hidden under some cardboard.

Truly, I need to be stopped.
