I do wonder what "unknown" platform is or how one would achieve that.

I've actually had this on my wishlist - and didn't even know it would get a Linux version!
Now I really don't have an excuse anymore, do I?

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries runs great on Linux with Proton now it's on Steam

I generally recommend Q4Wine to manage wine prefixes, makes it a lot easier than messing around with config files.
Of course, who knows if that would work for MW5 as well.
Heroic has honestly never worked for me, not even when I point it at the exact same default wine prefix...

Quoting: JHey,I am able to run the handful of EGS games I have by simply installing EGS on my default wine prefix, installing the game through that. And then either launching them through EGS as well, or directly.
I made the *critical* error of buying it on EPS, and I have only ever managed to get it to run once.
Does anyone know list of setting that will make it work via lutris / heroic or manual installation of EPS?
Sorry to have to ask for help, I had it working exactly once....
nvidia 460.73.01 with a 1650 Super (not expecting great perfomance but any playable setting will do)
thanks

Is the game good, though?
From what I heard it is just incredibly repetitive with the worst kind of procedural mission generation.
I'm a big fan of procgen, but when all it does is generate more or less the same mission every time, something went horribly wrong.
Of course, even in that case, it might still be worth it on a sale.

A trio of top-down Dungeon Crawlers reviewed, one old, one new and one coming soon

A linux build is fairly useless on EGS, so I wouldn't bother with that either until Steam release.
But given that Unexplored 1 has a linux build, I don't see a reason to assume 2 won't.

Quoting: g000hBeing an Epic Store exclusive means that "for now" it won't have a native Linux build. Maybe that'll change assuming it eventually appears on Steam. That's what I would expect.

I liked the previous game, but it didn't really blow me away.
However, they definitely pulled that one off successfully, so I'd put this one down as a rather low-risk affair as far as KS campaigns go.

Hints appear of Valve making a handheld Steam "SteamPal" Neptune console

This is the first time I've even heard of GPD Win and while I know lots of people with VR gear, I don't know a single peep (I invented that singular, u like?) with a handheld other than Switch.
But that is purely anecdotal and I'm clearly not the target audience. As I said, I simply don't know if there is a market.

Quoting: Liam DaweWell, thinking on it, look at how popular other handhelds like GPD Win has been and the excitement around things like the Alienware Concept UFO prototype and others. There's probably a good market for it, probably more so than VR I would say honestly. Is it really popular, though?

Well, it does seem to be a more promising idea than the Steam Machine.
And game support is certainly WAY better now via Proton than it used to be many years ago.
On the other hand, I don't really know if there is a market for such a handheld.
I wish them good luck, anyway.
