Surely it's possible to install OpenJK on the Steamdeck and play Jedi Academy that way? It works extremely well on my machine.

What I'm always wondering about is how sturdy the chassis and the overall hardware is on these Tuxedo laptops.
I got a Lenovo ThinkPad T15g Gen 2 two years ago. It wasn't cheap but it still holds and there are no flaws. Before that I've had a T530 for ten years. Only the NVidia chip died once and the motherboard had to be replaced.

While Gothic is my most favourite game of all time this game, at least for me, may be the best game of all time. At least at the moment, haha.
Right now I am looking for games where the whole world is simulated and it goes on and on even without you doing anything. And this game is exactly that. You can just do nothing and after, admittedly probably several hundreds of hours, you will realise that the Xenon have conquered the whole, known universe. Or they might not have.

Quoting: scainePlayed the originals back in 2018 for the first time - struggled with it for a couple of hours, trying to see the "magic" that everyone loved about this series, but it didn't click for me either. Good to hear it's cultural references, and not gameplay that made it so beloved.

I doubt I'll pick this up. It looks very similar in style to the Metro series, and I've had my fill of them.
Actually, at least here in Germany, it was not cultural references. People really loved the game because of the gameplay here. I'm half Ukrainian and half German and so I'm maybe more used to games being a little janky (Gothic is my most favourite game of all time and I love X4) but Stalker is a game like no other, at least for me. And that's almost completely because of how the game plays.

Lol that came out of nowhere. I've had this on my wishlist for what feels like years and years and years and now it's really coming. I kinda lost interest, though. :/

I know that this is not supported by the engine but I wish there was a real underground mode, not just tunnels. Something like in Simutrans. Now it someone tells me to play Simutrans the only thing I can say is: I tried. I tried oh so many times. So, so many times. I just couldn't get into it. :/

I think the reason why he remapped those keys is because on a German keyboard when you want to write "[" and "]" you have to press AltGr (the right Alt key on German keyboards) and press 8 for [ and 9 for ].
That's the reason why, personally, I switched to the English layout years ago because it really strains your wrists if you have to use these keys regularly.
