Check out Nainai's Recipe, a sweet game about cooking and staying connected

Oh that looks neat.

Looks like it will be Windows only, unfortunately, but there is another game about cooking that I've read about a few months ago called Soup pot. [External Link]

Anyway, this looks fun. Hopefully it will run on my old T530.

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries runs great on Linux with Proton now it's on Steam

Yes, I've also heard that this game is quite mediocre, with just a lot of tanks and helicopters spawning all the time. I've read, repeatedly, that people who liked the previous games will absolutely hate this.

Cool. This is the first Crusader Kings game I played and it is really good. Looking forward to it.

Neat. Thank you for pointing that out. When you wrote about this game for the first time I played the hell out of it. I didn't notice there is a kickstarter.

With the recent updates, this game is slowly but surely becoming a worthy successor of Pharaoh's and the likes. Still a few key features missing though, but I will definitely buy it once they get them done :)
As someone who never played such a game what sets it apart from others like The settlers or Anno or something like that?

Thanks for that. Tried it out and it's quite a bit of fun.

It's also potato-friendly, runs on my T530 albeit with some graphical glitches.

Open-world single-player 2D space game Starsector has a big story expansion

Quoting: amataiI bought the game. It's nice but I don't like the combat. They are slow and I can't understand how it works. I just take command of a ship that don't go in combat, let the AI play and go doing something else as they are not skipable
Later in the game, when you have a large fleet, you have to think much more about managing your ships, giving orders etc. but at the very beginning of the game you mostly have your own ship that you have to deploy and that you take full control of. You steer the ship with WASD and aim and fire using your mouse. Pressing shift and A or D lets you strafe in that direction rather than turn.
The combat, in my opinion, is a lot of fun in this game.

The excellent business and building sim OpenTTD arrives on Steam

Quoting: no_information_hereA seriously addictive game.

I am a little surprised they are making it Free on Steam. I thought they might put a small price on it to help fund development.

Nice work by all involved!
I think this game is in a grey area as it is, since it's basically a copy of Tim Sawyer's Transport tycoon. Going for a steam release is already a very bold move, selling it for a price would be quite outrageous.

Linux support is one of the reasons why I got it back in the day. I remember I was trying to decide whether to get Starfarer or SPAZ and I went on the Starfarer IRC channel and talked with the guys a bit. Or maybe it was the SPAZ channel? I cannot remember.

Anyway, Starfarer had Linux support and although my main gaming rig ran Windows back then I've been doing most of my work on a Linux machine for many years by that point - never regretted this decision. Got SPAZ a few years later on a humble bundle sale or something and it was alright. Nowhere near as good as Starfarer. And the updates for this game have been amazing.

It's funny, though, how SPAZ 1 and 2 have had full releases while this is still in development.
