Would be nice to see the demo also updated, so we can be sure they don't run into issues like EVERSPACE has run into.
I'm glad I backed System Shock and looking forward to play this game again. I can't play the original anymore, as the old graphics is really... to old for my eyes ;) But in my memories the game was really awesome with its atmosphere and story. Would really like to get this feeling again, exploring the station and stuff. The soundtrack of the intro still is a catchy song.

Editorial: Steam Machines are not dead, plus a video from The Linux Gamer

A scenario where Steam Machines could find a great niche is VR. When playing room scale VR you won't sit at your desk. You want the PC powering your VR headset in your living room, and this is where Steam Machines belong to.
On the other hand, when reading about why Steam Machines were invented in the first place, you'll realize that this reason isn't urgent at the moment. Dell/AlienWare approached Valve for an alternative to Windows 8 and its store. This was also covered here.
So today, Microsoft is giving Gamers again a vital platform with Windows 10, and this took the pressure of Dell/AlienWare and Valve to push the alternative.
We have to see, how this works out with UWP games and the store where these are sold. So there is still a chance, that this "thread" is becoming imminent again, and then Valve might already be prepared with SteamOS or Linux gaming in general.
So yeah, Steam Machines might not be completely "dead", but they aren't doing pretty well. Nevertheless, gaming on Linux is doing very well, and this trend seems to continue. I was afraid for 2017 that the momentum we saw in 2016 would decrease, but with VR coming to Linux there is something again I'm getting hyped about and looking forward to. I hope this pace continues and the signs for this are looking good at the moment \o/

Oh hell yeah. As soon as Elite: Dangerous runs on Linux with wine, I'll never have to boot into Windows again \o/
Would prefer a native Linux version of ED of course, but that's probably not gonna happen anytime soon, if at all.

So, if you want to troll your buddy, just set your ingame voice to always transmit, and he will be kicked from the game right to the desktop. Don't expect your mate to play with you again though :D

Quoting: DoItOnLinuxI wrote the fix up here; http://doitonlinux.blogspot.com/2017/01/saints-row-3-crashing-in-multiplayer.html [External Link]@DoltOnLinux: Thank you very much. This helped me too. When I tried to play with a mate (both on Linux), it was always kicking me back to desktop. I already had the ingame voice chat set to disable, but my mate had it to always transmit. After he changed that, it was working over two hours without issues.

Hmm... now the Killing Floor 2 entry on Aaron's Website [External Link] has been replaced by Flywrench.
Looks like Tripwire didn't like that he had this entry on his website.
I hope this didn't cause any trouble.
edit: oh, also the tweet [External Link] got deleted.

Will it really have to be Ubuntu 16.10? Like library-wise? Or will 16.04 LTS be working, too?

I would pick up a copy for sure. There have been many sales for KF2 already, but I was able to resist. Will pick up a copy as soon as it releases for Linux. Aaron is doing great porting work, so the port, if it comes, will probably be technically flawless.

You may think of Phil Fish as you like, but this game is a masterpiece. Thanks to Renaud Bédard and Ethan Lee we have a flawless Linux version, and this game is really fun to play. Really nice pixelart and good puzzles which you don't have to complete all to finish the game. In fact, you can play a second run, where you complete the remaining puzzles to get a different ending.
The variety of the puzzles is great, some are depending on time, for others you need a good ear (or have rumble on your gamepad) etc.
I enjoyed this game a lot.

CAYNE, the free point & click horror game set in the STASIS universe is now out and it's damn good

@Ehvis: It is playing in the same universe, but won't spoil Stasis at all.
I was lucky to beta test Cayne, and the issue with the text of PDAs and terminal screens being off is known and looks like it's a Unity Linux issue. The Brotherhood will release an update as soon as this is fixed.
From what I've read, Cayne was as stretch goal of the Stasis kickstarter campaign, a free prequel to Stasis. The friendly devs wrote to me:

I hope the Linux community forgives us for the late port of STASIS, that will happen soonish :)I don't mind at all. They show quite some Linux love and are working on fixing issues, which is really great. Especially as you can play Stasis on Linux through the beta already.

What Platforms will you initially release on? Windows. We will endeavor to also publish on Mac and Linux, however this may not be a day one release.
