Great, but certainly not interested to buy a game that's nearly 2 years old at full price.

Yes, I know now the game is on sale. But since pandemic, I insist to buy a new, fresh (less than 1 year from launching date) and preferably day-1 launched Linux games at full price as my part to "support the developers".

I know how hard the pandemic hit you all and me. With that, I want to "reward" developers who supporting Linux despite these hard times.

This is my new stance. Probably won't change even after pandemic over.

Kinda stupid question about VRR (Variable refresh rate). Is it refer to
- monitor setting/system used?, or
- game setting?, or
- GPU setting?

Quoting: AwesamLinux@tonR You can do it via a web browser, but the app is needed to be able to login. Instead of typing username and passwords, you instead are asked to enter social security number, and then on have to launch the app and enter a pin code. So in practice it works like any 2-factor authenticator application, just that it is tied to your social security number.
Wow! In Malaysia, most banks and many breaucracy-related online system are using text message-based as 2FA*. I don't know about USA, but here every phone number regardless prepaid or postpaid must be registered before it can be use. So phone number kinda as second ID after Mykad.

*Except some banks such as HSBC that using the calculator-like thing (my dad had one before as he was take a personal loan).

More Linux phones! The more the merrier!

Quoting: AwesamLinuxBanking: You would have to switch to a bank that still offers an alternative identification solution, or has manual physical handling of bill payments (at additional outrageously high fees of course)

Filing Taxes: You could do it by sending traditional paper work, but that comes at a penalty of getting tax refunds several months later than anyone who signed them digitally.
Wait?! Your country cannot filling or banking via web browser? That's weird.

Quoting: SamsaiI don't make the rules, but my opinion would be that day-to-day active virtualization should count as dual-boot but also you shouldn't count it as a dual-boot if you just briefly touch a Windows system. So if it's just a matter of setting up a phone and you aren't actually using that XP system for anything else, I wouldn't count it.
Understood. So, I'm not changing dual-boot question.

Quoting: g000hMaybe you could access your Nokia Suite software using WINE instead?
Well, using WINE is kinda hit-and-miss and happened once time my phone got factory reset, try it before and won't do it again.
Also, I'm afraid to run XP directly without any sandboxing nowadays. Especially my Win XP is "buried treasury" version.

Well, nothing interesting for my PC info except fully switched to Mint (not LMDE one). Guess it's still hard for me to seperate from PPA ecosystem. Yep.

Oh, and my Logitech Unifying keyboard not recognized in-between keystroke if I type very fast. Probably the time has come and to drying up my already thin wallet.

Oh, and my LCD screen already burnt little by little. My wallet...

Oh, and I still need to find a permanent, stable and hopefully better paid jobs. Unemployed ain't fun.

So yeah..

Serious question
Liam (or anyone). Is running Windows XP on virtualization software considered as dual boot? May need to run XP to use Nokia PC suite for set up old Nokia S40 phone.

Quoting: tonRHey guys. Currently, I'm on migrating little by little from Ubuntu to Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE). So, for PC info...

LMDE: Mint or Debian or we need new distro category?

p/s: Please don't ask why I'm not switch to (the real/vanilla) Debian. Just don't ask, please..
Why don't you switch to real Debian, though?
I am currently on Debian Stable, run on USB Drive. But to cut story short, I kinda love LMDE. It's kinda having the old school Ubuntu 8.04/10.04 LTS vibe without much modification IMO.

Debian (vanilla).. needs many tinkering, tweaking and customization to at least usable for me.
