Richard Stallman has resigned from the Free Software Foundation and MIT

As others have said, you need to see this through the eyes of a pedantic and leave the rest of the case out of the discussion of this specific point.
It's not as if he doesn't have a point here; if a 19 year old American has consensual sex with a 17 year old while travelling in Europe, should that also be called rape? Disregarding the rest of the case, I can certainly see his argument.

Where I live, Austria, consent between a 17 year old and a much older person is legally possible, unless there is a situation of power or money involved.Which there clearly was. It's hard to argue that a 70-years old academics has no authority over any 17-years old girl. The distinction is made so that you can have someone 19 and someone 17 having sex without problem.
Quoting: Richard StallmanDoes it really? I think it is morally absurd to define "rape" in a way that depends on minor details such as which country it was in or whether the victim was 18 years old or 17.That's arguing specifically about using the terms "rape" and "sexual assault" for cases where both parties are consenting and wouldn't be doing anything illegal if they were doing it in a different country.
I think the existence of a dispute about that supports my point that the term "sexual assault" is slippery, so we ought to use more concrete terms when accusing anyone.

ScummVM 2.1.0 is now ready for testing with support for more major classics

Fun stuff :)
Now to figure out how to run "Blade Runner" in ScummVM. I hope it works well as I've never gotten around to playing the game before and it's only marked as being "completable" on their wiki.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyOdd thing about Blade Runner: I actually have a different science fiction book by a different author, also called Blade Runner. It's about trafficking black market surgical supplies. That would be the William S. Burroughs one, right? The movie actually lifted the name from that book and got permission from Burroughs to use it, even though Burroughs had in fact previously hoped to turn his "Blade Runner" into a film as well.
Fun stuff :)

Rockfish confirm EVERSPACE 2 will not go exclusive to the Epic Store, Steam is the "best platform" for indies

Quoting: Alm888So… Steam-exclusive, then. Whew… That's a lot better. :whistle:Seeing as the first Everspace is available on Steam, the Humble Store and GOG, I wouldn't be so quick to call the second a Steam exclusive.
Manjaro levels up as a serious Linux distribution

I don't really care about which DE they end up keeping as main as I've been running i3 for quite some time and have recently switched to dwm. As long as no DE is a hard dependency, I'm fine with it.
What I'd like to see them focus on is compatibility and stability as the last couple of times I've tried Manjaro, it has either failed to install or locked up on boot. I'm sure it's related to my MSI motherboard not playing nice, so not directly their fault, but plain arch and Antergos (R.I.P.) never failed on me.

Going where no Steam Play has gone before with Elite Dangerous

I'll see if I can figure out parsing the mission time.
Edit note: What I have cobbled together so far uses the x52pro-linux package by nirenjan, so that's probably the same tool (`x52cli mfd`, right?); I've just added pagination, line scroll, button mappings and reading the Elite data.

Quoting: slaapliedjeThat's named button 30 on my joystick and should already be mappable in Elite. What sort of issue are you having with it?Quoting: CybolicI've started working on a companion program for the X52 MFD since the only one I've found so far is Windows-only.Awesome! So there is one thing you have to do in Windows for the X52, enable the clutch button. That way you can use it for thruster boost.
I'm pretty new in Elite though, so I'm having trouble figuring out what information to actually display and what might be useful.
If anyone wants to discuss this, let me know :)
Quoting: slaapliedjeBut I'm not sure about the MFD. Would be interesting if you could integrate it into having a clock for mission time or something. I play in VR though so actually looking at the MFD is kind of hard for me.I'm not sure either, but it seems a waste not to use :) Currently, I have it showing my commander name, ship name and dock/system on page 1 and ship name, ship type and fuel amount / capacity on page 2, but I'm sure there are more useful things that could be shown.
Edit: the packaged libx52 does have a mfd tool, I was playing with it at one point in time, but it's not a graphical one by any means.

Thanks for the write up, it made me take the plunge and get myself the X52 and finally install Elite! I was part of the original Kickstarter round but the long wait and disappointment over the hints of Linux support that never amounted to anything made me push the game off my radar again, so it's been really great to finally get into it!

Ah, so the actual future then! :(
I'm not much into historical settings (unless we count steampunk), so this might actually draw me in now.
