Looks like Valve could be set to launch something called Steam Cloud Gaming

A service to stream your Steam games to anywhere on any hardware OR just doing it oldschool on your Linux box, even offline? That would be a big hit, for consumers and developers alike. That could even solve the Steam Play anti cheat problem, at least for streaming.

Microsoft confirm their new Chromium-powered Edge browser is coming to Linux

Quoting: einherjarI don't need it. I can not see any advantage over using Firefox.

And hey, it is MS. They are only nice if they are forced to and I am sure, they have some strategy in mind that leeds to the next Vendor Lock In.

And do I want to give them access to my privacy? NO! If I wanted that, I would be using Win10 :P
Why do they need an own browser anyway, if not to collect data? Why would I use a proprietary Microsoft Chromium when I can have the open source variant?

Fatbot Games have announced the first-person steampunk dungeon crawler Vaporum: Lockdown

Quoting: TcheyI much prefer turn based if grid based system, like in Heroes of Broken Lands, StarCrawlers, The Quest, and some others. Or at the very least, static combats. I do hate square dancing.
I like both kinds. It's maneuvering / versatile approaches vs. slower reasoning.

Arhg, whyyyyyy !
Isn't that how all of these first person dungeon crawlers have always worked, starting with Dungeon Master? Why did you expect this one to be any different.
No not all.. they had real time vs. turn based quite early on..

It's really unique with its Steampunk setting, audio log story telling and first person grid based real time combat. I loved outmaneuvering enemies that would be too hard 1 on 1.

NVIDIA have released a new Vulkan Beta Driver 435.27.02

Quoting: chui2chIs there a good guide somewhere on installing the NVIDIA driver using the run file?
If you're using Manjaro, you're probably better off waiting for the updated nvidia driver to make it's way to the repos, or modify the relevent PKGBUILD(s) [External Link] for your kernel/driver combo. Manually installing nvidia drivers could interfere with mhwd.
I'm actually impressed and surprised how far Manjaro XFCE can go upstream, without beeing plagued by typical upstrem issues.
I wouldn't jeopardize this for a little less waiting. If it takes longer, they might just fix the problems you would have had installing the .run file.

Google want Stadia to have exclusive games other platforms can't support

I do understand and share the technical excitement in your article. And yes any Linux users could just use Stadia to play current titles they never had chance to on Linux otherwise. But somehow this is like just installing Windows, or just buying a console was to me in the past.. There were resons I did not do that. Microsoft wanted to bully us into directions about how to use our computers. Googles AIs learn how to influence us without us noticing it instead. I think it's not good they get their hands on so many peoples (gaming) decision making. With privacy you do not only protect your personal data, but also the (for a good part shared) collection of natural algorithms that we call human mind.

Quoting: TermyTechnical Exclusivity is kind of OK - but i HIGHLY doubt that will be the case. I simply don't see them assigning much more CPU/GPU-Power to a single instance than a modern gaming PC provides. The claim might hold true for mobile games or consoles, but other than that it will probably be the blant, simple, anti-consumer political exclusivity that is plaguing us with other consoles already...
They want billions to play on Stadia in the future. Until that happens and their resources become limited, I'm pretty sure they'll want to impress people with their power..
Other than that I think you hit the nail!

My wife actually has that tattooed on her shoulder.
Curios to know the signficance of that ....
Nothing too big. My wife has an instinctive hatred of bullies since young, and does a lot of reading about the French resistance in WW II. One of her metrics to judge people is "If there were a fascist takeover and you were resisting, smuggling refugees or whatever, could you trust this person?" (The answer is very often "They're nice enough but no, probably not")
She'd been thinking for ages of getting just one small tattoo, just a little personal wildness rebellion against getting older, and that's what seemed most meaningful to her.
Sounds like a clever way to measure your inner voice about someone!
This is related to an often asked question: What would I have done in those dark years? No one really knows, but what matters most is, you can answer the question for the future!
