I continued my achievement hunter activities in CS:GO. Being a wimp at first/third person shooters, I continue to "play with bots" on Deathmatch with the setting "medium bots". I am getting closer to half way on the 1000 kills with an M4A4. Sometimes I feel like I should get into the competitive realm of CS:GO, but I am so UP (under-powered) that I would be that guy everyone says, "Who invited him?"

When I am listening to podcasts, I want something that takes very little thought, does not require the use of headphones (of course) and the consequences of making a faux pas is relatively inconsequential. For that I have been playing Regency Solitaire.

Finally, I have been playing some SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech. Liam did a fantastic review of this game HERE. It summarizes nicely why I think I will continue to play this game for awhile.

Guide a robot with simple programming in "Robo Instructus", out now

I have an affinity for these "solo developer" games.
Robo Instructus() has been on my wishlist since March. After reading Liam's review and the developer's blog post, it was a no-brainer - buy now. It is somewhat similar to another game that I enjoyed, Hacknet, which is also developed by a solo developer.
I sure hope this game is successful. After reading the blog posting, you can not help but want the game to be a success.

Valve has launched "Steam Labs", a place where Valve will show off new experiments
11 Jul 2019 at 10:57 pm UTC

I like the idea of letting users get a look at Steam's "works-in-progress". Anything a company can do to give users insight and input into their services is a good thing. Although each of the three labs seems to be a rehashing of "Your Discovery Queue", I rather like the "Automatic Show Experiment" format. I can see myself going back to this every few weeks to get a quick perspective on what is out there in the Steam Universe. I cannot say I ever find myself wanting to review my "Your Discovery Queue".

Strategy god game Godhood from Abbey Games has released into Early Access with Linux support
10 Jul 2019 at 9:29 pm UTC

As a supporter, I got my Early Access key this morning via email. I watched one of the developers play Godhood this afternoon on a Steam stream. The game play looked great! There were about 3,800 viewers at the time I was watching. I will likely download the game this evening and give it a quick spin. Probably not go much farther than this though... It is clear that Abbey Games has lots and lots of plans for additional content.

3D puzzle game "Flux Caves" fully released, now has Linux support again
10 Jul 2019 at 5:46 pm UTC

I remember the posting from fubenalvo on GOL several months ago. I thought it was nice of him, as a developer, to get on GOL and post information/comments about his game Flux Caves. In his posting he mentioned that he wanted to make puzzles "...which are hard enough but not too frustrating." I bought the game on Steam, so I will be assessing his success myself.

Video recording and livestreaming software OBS Studio has a new 23.2 Release Candidate out

Really looking forward to Service Integration in the Linux version of OBS. I was disappointed that Release Candidate 23.2 still lacks this feature. I am currently recording the my favorite Twitch channel using Firefox in a maximized window. It works, but the integration of Twitch into OBS will work much better and require less editing.

The simple yet stylish puzzle game SiNKR 2 is out and it's lovely

Got a discount coupon in my Steam inventory because I had purchased SiNKR. I bought SiNKR2 immediately. I enjoy games with "no scores, no timers". You just complete the level and you are on to the next. SiNK2 has Steam achievements, cards and is currently on sale (20% off). SiNKR works perfectly in Linux. The game reminds me of another Unity game that I enjoyed Hook [External Link]. Highly recommended for people that enjoy these types of games.

Quoting: fubenalvoso big-big thank you for the article and for the grateful readers too! Thank you guys! :)
Hi fubenalvo,

We certainly appreciate you giving us Linux support and we particularly appreciate a developer getting on the forums. I just bought the game on itch.io and am looking forward to playing it when I get home from work.

When I hear a game referred to as a "marble-run" I can't help remembering the fun I had playing Marble Madness on my Commodore 64 using a joystick. It was a great game and was a commercial success for Atari. I hope your game is also a success fubenalvo!

Wizard of Legend, the excellent action game from Contingent99 just had a huge upgrade

This game has been on my Steam Wishlist since May of last year. I got a notice from Steam today that the game was on sale (40% Off) and now you mention the update. The only thing that prevented me from clicking "Add To Cart" in the past was the difficulty factor... But 40% off and the "progression system" convinced me to buy the game.
