Apparently Valve are working with Easy Anti-Cheat to get support in Steam Play (updated: yup)
16 Feb 2019 at 11:03 pm UTC

I can't imagine that Epic lets this happen.
They will not help Valve in any way. And if valve plans something like new Steammachines, it must work reliable.
If people buy a Valve product (game streaming or something like Steammachines) Epic can always kill it. They just need to let the multiplayer fail. Let people be kicked by Easy Anticheat - thats it!

So I don't think that will work reliable. Would be very nice, but I do not believe. May be with Battle Eye. But never with an Epic Company.

The Steel & Statecraft update for Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia arrives in the Linux version

Honestly? It is actually 27€ at Steam. Do you really think, that is to expensive for a game like this?
I live in Brazil, maybe the regional prices are not proportional. As of today, it is the second more expensive total war game on steam here, with the first one being Warhammer II. There are other reasons for me not buying now, too, but the price matters.
Ahh, I was thinking too much in our region. Of course outside Europe things are different.

Insurgency: Sandstorm should still release for Linux this year
24 Jan 2019 at 9:09 pm UTC

Quoting: TuxeeWell...

We are are hoping to bring Insurgency: Sandstorm to Linux this year.
(stress by me)

A statement like this in January is not exactly inspiring for Linux gamers.
Hmm, that sounds not very promising to me.
Would be great to see it on Linux, but I believe it, when I see it

And why wouldn't they wish to have more users?
LOL, please be realistic. The dogmatic people, that do only buy on GOG are even less people, than Linux-Gamers are. And people like you, that do only buy DRM free on GOG AND for Linux are so irrelevant...

Here is a little thing for you to think over:

Steam Linux Market Share: 0,82%
Linux-Gamers that refuse to buy on Steam appr. 20% of Linux Gamers: 0,82 * 0,2 = 0,164%

Sorry, but you really complain about a company, that greatly supports Linux but does not spend time and money for these approximatly 0,16% dogmatic people. LOL! And that is only PC-Customers - so even less in their view over all Plattforms!

To be honest, I think people with arguments like these are really a problem for us Linux-Gamers. The Linux-friendly Devs/Publishers who read this, must really think we aren't worth their time.
Not only that they earn really not much money with supporting Linux, the demanding minority seems also to be ungrateful.

If I would be a Dev/Publisher and read too much of such complains, I would simply say:"F*ck you!". I can run my business perfectly without you.

Darwin Project no longer works in Steam Play, due to Easy Anti-Cheat

I'd bet that most players aren't playing online multiplayer to begin with. (I read even Call of Duty has more offline than online players.)
I think that a lot of people want to have the possibility to play with their friends. Even if they do not use this function a lot, it has to work.

Nah, they're an independent company based in the fatherland of Linux, a.k.a. Suomi.
last time i check Epic Bought that Company

OMG, this lowers the chances dramatically, that EAC will work good with proton. IMHO Epic will not help Valve to get more Games to Linux. I am sure, they will use this as a weapon.
