Not related to gaming, but at work, in a public school, they changed about 1/3 of Windows to Linux because of Win11 "killing" some of the machines.
So instead of having 1/3 less computers, they tried Linux (Mint), and they are finding they like it...

I’m biased, but the name "Minecraft" in the title makes me want NOT play that game.
Steam has turned 18 years old and PC gaming has never been the same since

Maybe related to "bought vs activated" on Steam ?

My story with Steam purchases starts i think in 2007 with the Orange Box.
Today i have 984 games + several hidden
My account is semi private and i need to turn it public to have more details from https://steamdb.info/ [External Link]
I know i didn’t play a few of them, but not much. I did play (almost) all my games.
Didn’t say to the end... I almost never "finish" a game, even if i play hundreds of hours.
I don’t care about stories most of the time, only gameplay.
The Orange Box is a bundle that includes five titles from Valve: Half-Life 2; Half-Life 2:Episode 1; Half-Life 2: Episode Two; Team Fortress 2, the sequel to the game that put class-based, multiplayer team warfare on the map; and Portal, the game that blends puzzles, first person action, and adventure gaming to produce an experience like no other.Current account active since Q3 2007.

I don’t feel attracted by the game as i think it will be (colony sim like the few last ones released these months), but only because of Mechanicus team, i’ll follow it.

I was alive back then, but not aware of Linux before maybe end of 90’s, and not using it until early 2000’s, but now i can’t think about "going back" to Windows (and Mac is worst for me, even more locked up and mind-sick with example a 60€ string to attach your 250€ airpods...).
Linux via dualboot for a several years, first more as a test than a real utilization, and little by little, less Win, more Linux.
My last dual boot was with Win7. Then Linux only with Ubuntu and Mint. Today is Manjaro for about 5 years, and happy to be there.
Linux for me is simply an alternative, and i believe alternatives are a must, a question of life or death, with any topic. One choice means no choice. So i’m on Linux to participate on the Life side. Also the obvious "free and open" stuff. Free i mean not the money part, the liberty/freedom one.

One game i really want to play, "Ultimate Space Commando", still doesn’t launch at all, with all Proton and EG versions i tried, and command lines.
One day, maybe, one day...
Good to see more and more games playable, but the bad side is maybe less native ones from devs...

Yep, have to wait before playing. Nothing seems up to date yet, snap, flat, app...
Manjaro is with 0.24. Some reps are even still with 0.23.
Also, big mistake in the trailer, Alpha 25 shows as XV instead of XXV in old rome numbers.
And we have a a good 10 seconds to notice it, hehe... Weird they didn’t see that, as it’s very obvious.

I love this game, but i really miss a true "living" part, i mean, interiors and sense of scale, first person-human view and movements, and true ingame building (opposed to ingame but separated editor), as StarMade did (still my favorite after all these years despite the poor state it’s stuck in).

I’m not fond of goffy games, or the ones based on half broken physics.
One of the best "open survival crafting" game i’ve played (not in time played or depth etc but in my memory, it left an deep positive impact), is actually a really weird one : Wrong World (via Proton).

At first i almost forced myself to try it, but i quickly felt in love with the many ideas and discoveries. It’s weird, but seriously well done.
