Total War: ROME REMASTERED announced with cross-platform multiplayer

Quoting: aokamiNothing to do with wine or proton, Feral tech is nowhere near those.
Wine hooks syacalls at runtime, whereas Feral has compile-time approach solution (for max perfs :D).
Yes Samsai explained that for me in another post, I only though about that because isn't uncommon that game companies using embbed wrapers to make "native" linux versions. Even Valves does this with their old source games.

Quoting: aokamiThese even are cursed words tearing the market apart at Feral (more compatibility, less demand for native ports).
That's why I think Feral should consider become a game developer company, there's an underrated market flying under the radar of the big companies, and Feral could use their knowledge of supporting multi platform and maybe some investment in indie developers to make a good day-one cross platform title.

Quoting: jensI’m not really up to date with ARM based systems. Where do you find those GPU’s in real life?

New OBS Plugin Offers Game Capture Solution on Wayland (for Vulkan renderers)

Quoting: SamsaiMore options is better though and at least on compositors like Sway you cannot use the xdg-desktop-portal window capture yet
I thought xdg-desktop-portal was already compatible with wlroots, is sway using another compositor?

New OBS Plugin Offers Game Capture Solution on Wayland (for Vulkan renderers)

Quoting: BrissePersonally I have always been able to capture xwayland surfaces but for some reason the frame-rate in the captured footage is terrible.
It's because games today mostly run through xwayland, so it's compatible with Xcomposite.

I agree with pipewire support (already works for audio) and I think they should also make it compatible to xdg-desktop-portal in the official application.

Total War: ROME REMASTERED announced with cross-platform multiplayer

Quoting: Dan_igrokIt would be good if they could remaster the AI as well.

"oh a wall of super long pikes that will kill half of us for sure. CHAAAAAAAARGE!"
"My empire is crumbling, I am invaded from all sides, I have no money in my treasury. I'll still attack that human player's city with all I have. Maybe the 17th siege will finally work..."
"Boss, they have killed half of our troops with these archers. Shouldn't we retaliate or something? Nay, we don't have cavalry, let's just wait till they are out of arrows"

I played this game to death back in the day, and I have fond memories of all the campaigns I played. But in the end, every battle was about exploiting the AI stupidity...
They're dumb as the real life "world leaders". I call this a feature

Cross-platform Multiplayer: Players can enjoy cross-platform multiplayer between Windows, macOS and Linux
I wonder if the recent improvements with wine and proton helped them to finally make a cross-platform game port

Despite some problems, I'm always glad to see how deep silver still commits to release a native version for their games (I wish Gearbox had done the same)

Quoting: g000hNow we just need Croteam to up their game and put out Serious Sam 4 for Linux.
For me Croteam is the ideal of a game developer company, we can always see how excited they are to working with new technologies while still gives good support for their old games and gives feedback to the community. I just wish their games wasn't so repetitive.

Valve overhauls the Dota 2 new player experience as DOTA: Dragon's Blood releases
25 Mar 2021 at 1:44 pm UTC Likes: 1

I like it how Valve is aiming to make the game more beginner friendly. I remember when I try to play and I didn't understand anything that I was doing (probably because I'm not a MOBA fan)

Sadly to see that Dota 2 lacks what I think are the main factor that made League of Legends the most popular one: Localized voice acting.

This combined with the game "low specs friendly" in my opinion was the factor that makes LoL more popular with girls and "non-gamers" players, and for me who lives in a country with some of the best voice actors in the world, I can see how much this matter.

But I really hope this improves the experience of new players that will come with the Netflix animation, and I might try to play again to see the new tutorial.

I realized that too, apparently their Vulkan build need some polishing.
