So while Harebrained Schemes is saying:
We have started working on the Linux version of Shadowrun Returns this week. We have our build machine up and running and have started making test builds. It’s still unclear just how much more work is necessary, because the builds are pretty rough in spots. For example, we can create characters, but there are errors when loading into the first apartment scene. The editor is now compiling in Linux, but unfortunately crashes when trying to load scenes. We’re confident we can work through the various Linux-related issues, but it is going to take some time to wrangle them into submission.
We are a month after release and nothing to be seen, while the guys at inXile are saying its no big deal really....

Hate Plus Coming soon to Steam For Linux

Anyways, got the save game from the original into this new one and so far I like it, except maybe the screen flashing (trying to emulate a system running at low power) can be a bit irritating.
also cudos to the developer fixing some issues (spaces without quotes in scripts) within less then an hour so the game would start out of the box.

Quoting: s_dNot too much of a visual-novel guy myself, but I thought it would be good to point out that it's been available for Linux directly [External Link] from Christine's site [External Link], and also on Desura [External Link], for a long time now. Folks who may not be Steam inclined might choose to buy it that way. That is "A hate story" which is the 1st, the one in this article is "Hate Plus". Got the original from the authors site when it came out, one thing I miss there is no notice of updates, that what desura and steam do well :)
Without knowing more, I would suspect the issue in bringing it to Steam is somewhere between Ren'Py & Steamworks on Linux for achievements and stuff, since Steam's Linux support is still pretty new.
